Thats the trouble with zealots, completely closed minds. Pity.

Oh come on Pea, Reverend Blair isn't that bad. He might come off like he has a closed mind, but he means well, I'm sure of it.

Seriously though, I responded with how I felt about the CBC, Rev posted his feelings about it too, he could have left it at that, he chose not to...I didn’t say anything nasty about the CBC in this thread.

I'm curious, Jay...did you quit buying products advertised on private radio stations that you did not agree with, or were paying for them to broadcast while boycotting the CBC for saying the same things?

Maybe you have a hard time understanding that left leaning ppl are political too Pea. Furthermore, conservatives aren’t the ones who missed “the idea of this thread and dragging into the same "zealot" rant”.

The CBC does have some wonderful programming. It would be hard for it to not have wonderful programming; they follow around Canadians. Canadians (in general) are wonderful people.

This just shows what a "dumb ass" you are. I hope your fishing skills are better. And ehm..."oh come on Jay" do you really believe that it not obvious that you and your little gang come here for the rev. You offer nothing except the same old rant, about the same old things. None of you can talk about anything but your political agendas. And ehm..sorry the rev can do both.

So mind what you say. You are not free to say what you please in Canada...

Yes I am. I 've said nothing wrong.

Dear, dear, dear...

Its not for you to make that determination.

You likened David Frum, a prominent jew, to a nazi.

B’nai Brith Canada could nail our sorry a** for hate propaganda via the Internet.

This is Canada, remember? You have no freedom of speech, only the illusion of it.

But don't worry Blair, I don't like them well enough to raise their sleeve and denounce you.

Reverend Blair said:
He'll snap to attention when I remind him we have laws against hate speech.

He'll likely manage to keep a straight face until he hangs up the phone. You've cited no examples of hate speech.

Again, that's not for you to decide. The office of the ombudsman knows better than to take any complaint lightly on account of our draconian legislative protections.

And yes, like it or not, our hate laws do afford babies the same protections as any other group in society.

Thanks I believe I could probably take a few pointers from you though.

I dunno I think he wants to engage with ppl. I think the Rev is Canadian and he's up for a challenge...I think he responds to many posts and therefore ppl engage with him. This is to his credit.

It might do the both of us some good Pea, if you were to know that I don't have a little gang. I don't lead any gang or belong to one either. It may be that some ppl here have similar beliefs as me, and it may appear that there is some connection to it. Let me assure you it isn't the case.

I'm sorry pea but I do post other stuff around here, you will see it if your watching for it.
To help you understand better you might want to consider the fact that I like politics and such, it's just the way it is. Perhaps I like it as much as you don't.

Sorry, Mediana...it doesn't work that way though. I expressed no hate towards Jews, just towards David Frum. I'll do it again too. He's a hateful little prick and deserves to be recognized as such.

And yes, like it or not, our hate laws do afford babies the same protections as any other group in society.

Actually babies are not a recognized minority, so the hate laws do not apply. Children are afforded most of the same rights as adults under other parts of the Charter. Calling them parasites is no different than referring to Harperites the same way though...not a hate crime.

Maybe you have a hard time understanding that left leaning ppl are political too Pea.

It was the radical right that started injecting their vitriol into a thread entitled "Why I Love the CBC" though.

I had to stop listening to it for awhile though, while Mike Harris was premier of Ontario, they would line up to take swings at him, and I didn't appreciate my tax dollars going to bash the premier I voted for. If it was private radio I would have dismissed it, but it isn't.

I know the CBC is full of Liberals, that part is clear. I didn't stop listening to boycott it, as much as it was so I didn't have to listen to their crap anymore. (at that point in time. We now have a liberal government in Ontario, so things have changed..

No sorry sir, they don't seem to talk much about the Ontario Liberals.

Wait till the next election, the Tories will win and the CBC will be at it again, and I will put up with it for awhile, and then I will turn the station again for awhile. That’s how it works.

They have a bias and that’s the case. It just so happens to hang to the left with them. Maybe you have to be a righty to see it. It's not so much the "news coverage" but the rhetoric. Marry Lou Finnly, Barbra Bud that stuff.

The CBC is undeniable biased towards the left. But then, that's to be expected.

To be fair, I suppose for every flyweight liberal weenie they allow on the air, there's a slew of other more profoundly troubled nutcases out there who are rejected for being even too freaking weird for the lefties at the CBC.

Mind you, I'm still fuming over the offhanded remark some guest feminazi made last weekend about babies, calling them "parasites". It is simply inexcusable -- shame on you CBC.

That's just the fist page, Jay. You took a minor remark about a perceived bias and turned it into a major issue. Then there's Mediana's remarks which are truly bizarre.

I was simply reflecting on MY feelings about the CBC, as this thread seemed to imply we were to do. YOU decided YOU wanted to know more about MY politics with this...

curious, Jay...did you quit buying products advertised on private radio stations that you did not agree with, or were paying for them to broadcast while boycotting the CBC for saying the same things?

I answered your question.

Is that a problem?

Yup...you only apply your politics to the CBC.

And you only read what you want to read. For your benifit, I'll post what I posted again.

The radio I listen to otherwise is for its music content, not the commercials, or the commentary.

I just spent more time listening to music radio and CDs, and surfing the net whilst I stopped amusing myself with the CBC.

Come to think of it I don't think there is another talk alternative in my area to the CBC in FM mode.
