Why Can't world leaders just meet up for a week each summer?

World leaders are always flying around to this meeting, that conference, those summits, etc. I can only imagine the flight, hotel, security, and other costs associated with this while people are starving homeless in the world.

Would it really be that difficult for world leaders to agree to meet up for a week each summer and do the rest of their work on Skype, Whatsapp, e-mail, etc.? Seriously, don't they have smart phones and tablets like the rest of us?

Doesn't matter. Meet up near the equator at some time in the winter or summer each year.

Maybe the Canadian Taxpayer's federation could start a fund to provide the Prime Minister and each Cabinet Minister with a smartphone. heck, even a Samsung J1 (at around 150.00, maybe up to 200.00 if you include accessories) would probably suffice. It could probably last at least four years and heck, the taxpayer could even let the Minister keep it at the end of his mandate as a thank-you present and buy a new one for the next Minister. We could even include smart-phone education at the beginning of each mandate to teach the new Ministers how to use e-mail, Skype, and Whatsapp. Oh yes, I forgot, we'd also want to provide each Cabinet Minister's office with unlimited high-speed internet, a Skype account, and download Whatsapp into his phone. Then we could teach him how to use it to communicate with his colleagues around the world.

Imagine the technological advances in Parliament. It would bring the Cabinet into the 21st century.

We are not at all familiar with these world leaders, Glob, the personages we see are Globs little errand boys and girls so the schedual you suggest is and has been in effect for a very long time already.

Starving people are good for business.
