The U.S. have a big healing process to go through all over the world. The republican party created
a big problem, so what's the point of relecting them, like they did last time, with Bush.
A fresh start is needed, and the democrats should be given the presidency, so they can use their
diplomatic character, and wiseness to deal with the "international" affairs, till the U.S. has their
respect back, as they will. It will take some time, but they are a good people, with a great country,
and a great role in the world as the super power. We, in Canada, need them to be a great leader,
as it has quite an effect on us as well.
I really like Barrack Obama, and I would like to see Gen. Wesley Clark step into the ring as well.

The next US President will be another Republican. The front runners of the GOP would bury the Dem front runners.

Giulliani or McCaine vs either Hillary or Obama?

An easy win for the GOP.

Whomever it is will need to be one hell of a staesman/woman and have the gift for diplomacy. The mess Bush is leaving behind is in dire need of fixing. This shoot first ask questions later policy might work for shooting troublesome racoons on the ranch, but not in international politics. And the economic state of the US is desperately needing the attention of a true financial wizard to return the ways of prosperity to the forefront. A tough job is an understatement, for that person!

It doesn't matter which party the President is in, what matters is that he/she does the right thing for the American people.

I agree with that.

Sadly though American politics have evolved into a "Win at any cost" just to win.

Did you ever read "Why Americans Hate Politics"?

I know I should care, but what difference does it make what a Canadian thinks. In my opinion however, I believe the democrats will win. This based on history more than anything.

Just curious... what history would lead you to believe that?

Not to look like I am chasing you around Self but I don't think the Dem candidates are strong enough to win the country. I think they are too polarizing.

McCaine and Guilliani are not.

I think that what the US needs is a strong third party. The two party system just is...not very democratic if you ask me.

Third parties at this time seem to be just spoilers. Like Perot in Bush Sr. v Clinton.

Yanno Id actually vote for McKaine if it came down to it. I know his style and his politics, hes a family man with family values. If I remember correctly hes ok with the gay and pagan groups.....I'll have to research it more.

I will not vote for Hillary she's.......well my "sourses" (gut) says dont. BUT I get a really good feeling about Obama....he's bright, new and I like how he stood up for his faith. I Like that alot.

Hmm.... Ya know, I really HATE Bush, and thus I'm tempted to say that the republicans should be out of there. But. I like McCaine a lot. He seems (let me stress, seems, since people have a bad habit of putting on masks), like a true president. Party politics aside, he seems to be able to stand up and do what's needed, versus what's wanted by a party or by corporations etc. He doesn't seem to have a corporate hand running the show, unlike some I could name. If he were to run, I think he'd win it. And I think it would honestly be a great thing for the US. But, I don't think the views of a housewife from Northern BC matter much in the election of a US president. lol.

It is clear that Bush needs to go. I like the guy but I will breathe a sigh of relief when he is gone just because of the heat he brought on the country. Although I am conservative I was also glad the GOP got swept as they deserved it.

You are a perfect example why Hillary won't win. People like you are expected to like her but don't. For some reason not all women like her and that includes Democrat or Independents that lean to the Dem Party. What I mean is you don't like Bush so people will naturally think...

"Well she will vote for a Dem no matter what next time."

It isn't that easy.

I dont know alot ....obviously.......but I go by my gut. I have no problem voting outside my party. In my old age Im looking for whats correct for the country not just a partisan vote......make sense?

I can tell you exactly why Hilary won't win votes.

Because she's still married to a man who cheated on her, without seeming to have actually fixed the marriage.

I'm not saying that their healing process needed to be public, but, for her to have any hope of a future as a presidential candidate, she needed to have spoken up and shown people that she was going to be strong, stand up for herself, and demand more of him. It's what people would expect of any male candidate, and they're certainly not going to cut her any slack just because she has ovaries.

In the eyes of the public, Hilary is a pushover, and is living in a loveless marriage for the sake of her image. It implies that she is more about image than self integrity.
