The Godfather

The BBC's Miami Twice - which is a feature length episode of BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses - is the second-greatest mafia film of all time.

The hapless Trotter brothers Del Boy and Rodney, from Peckham in south London, are in Miami on holiday. There they are spotted by Mafia Don Vincenzo Occhetti and his sons, the don just happening to be Del's exact double (the great David Jason plays both Del and the Don, putting on a great American accent). The Occhettis welcome the brothers - but they have a plan. Occhetti is to stand trial for several crimes. If Del is found dead and it is assumed that he is the Mafioso, the don will be in a position to start a new life. So they attempt to kill Del but, of course, things don't go according to plan...

I know the daughter of Eric Liddel. (Yes, she is elderly). I just saw her three hours ago.

The real Eric Liddell or the one in the film?

Most of your list is at the top of mine. I even had The Good The Bad and The Ugly down and changed it. Spinal tap occurred to me. Casablanca was on the tip of my tongue. 2001 still works. Saving Private Ryan is probably hyper accurate. All that you see is the platoon but, realistically, that is the only view of the battle that any soldiers would ever have ... the guys beside you and the "problem" in front of you. Love Mel Brooks ... would have chosen Young Frankenstein over BS.

Bladerunner comes off the shelf here regularly, and has for at least the last ten years.
True Romance, an early Quentin Tarantino effort.
Paint Your Wagons, if for nothing else than to see Clint Eastwood sing, but hilarious in its own right.
To Kill a Mockingbird and Casablanca just because.

I liked Murphey's Romance

Yep, pretty hard to beat both James Garner and Sally Field.............I liked the scene out on the verandah where he told the young A$$hole "just tell her we had a pissing contest and you won". :) :)
