Yes, I do find it interesting that they do have the same mindset, so there is a formula for creating this kind of thing, how is it possible to stop them? I myself have no idea, but I remember what an old fishermen told me once, you don't get rid of a hornets nest by hitting it with a stick. :?

You've been watching too much Dr. Strangelove! :)

I don't think the Americans have been riding the daisy-cutters down to the target.

Most people in Iraq have the same reasons you all attribute to the suicide bombers and yet a huge majority do not act to throw their life away for the causes this board finds so enobling and understandable.

In addition, those suiciders are all young with less than 30 orbits around the sun.

RE: What Makes Suicide Bo

Religious stupidity and a perverse sense of nationalism in a shrinking world...same thing that makes any soldier 'tick'.
God is 'on our side'.

There's an interesting angle on nationalism not much discussed ever.

Without nation-states what do you have ?

Anarchy ? World government ?

Whatever will replace nationalism might be worse?

How could it be worse? How could it not be ?

What about the 50state laboratory or the 110 nation laboratory to air out ideas before they become universal ?

Why have provinces ?
