There is nothing wrong with political correctness, I am all for it myself. And conservatives practice apolitical correctness big time, only their postulates of political correctness are different from those of liberals.
Thus for a conservative, it is politically correct to bash homosexuals, it is politically incorrect to say anything complimentary about gays. Or it is politically correct to bash Obama; it is the blasphemy, sacrilege of the worst kind to say anything even mildly positive about him.
For a conservative it is politically correct to bash Islam to his heart’s content, it is politically incorrect to any anything even mildly positive about Islam and Muslims (and there are many positive things that can be said about them).
I don’t see anything wrong with political correctness, we all practice it; it is just that we mean different things by it.

Many of my relatives belong to a religious organization that label them as 'Knights'.
I wouldn't freak out to see their affiliation on a business card.
To try to make something out of it in hindsight, is ridiculous. Clearly he knew people, worked with people, who didn't feel he was a threat before this. To imply that religious affiliation should be a warning flag, is fear mongering, plain and simple.
But I guess that's 'just PC' of me.

Knights of Columbus calle themselves soldiers of God with swords and everything but I have yet to see one blow himself up in a crowded room or shoot a bunch of people while yelling "Jesus is great"
I have yet to see an American soldier do so either. Keep in mind, this man was a complete human being, not 'just' a Muslim.
dismissing an argument with a simple 'PC... bah' is a handy way of declaring your argument won without actually having to give it any thought isn't it?

I fail to see the importance of someone calling themselves a servant of god (and yes, that is how some sites I found that were upset about it listed it, not soldier), in the way you present it (implying it was inevitable, or should have been predicted).

DaS, to try to not be pinned down into direct discussion about it is infantile. If you make an implication, expect people to debate you, even if it is JUST an implication. You know darn well that the groups you discuss on are more mature than being willing to shrug it off as "oh right, he never directly said it."
You're planting a seed of a discussion, and then shrinking away from it. Man up and say what you're trying to say.
