I was hoping so much for the senators tonight, but they have one more chance to knock off those rangers,
its not a long shot for them to do it, then can, but it will be in new york, so they will have to
beat the crowd too.

Yes, I don't usually cheer for washington, but i've made an exception this time.

Whether there should or should not have been a goalie interference call, Lundquist better watch his mouth. That interview he gave after the game all but said that the refs were trying to keep the Sens in the game - quote, 'someone wants them back in the game obviously.' Not a wise thing to be saying when there a game left to play for the final.

I don't like Neil one bit - that gratuitous fight he picked was stupid - though he did land a couple hard hits - wish he'd been benched or kicked out for the game.

Spezza can be his own worst enemy at times - hope he can up his level of play for the final.

Was surprised to see Alfie lose his cool in the box. 8O

Well bye, bye Hawks...........maybe we will see Jonathan playing for the Canadian team now - that would be a consolation prize, for me at least.

GO, SENATORS, GO!

GO, CAPITOLS, GO!

Gopher, Torres got the suspension for a number of reasons, not the least of which is his long history of bad hits. Whether he is pink, blue, brown or green had nothing to do with it. Okay?

It's such a bull**** suspension anything is possible.

I'm truly surprised that you would say something like that, Kreskin - no matter what you think about the suspension.

How did those reffing and video idiots not see the puck get kicked into the net?

Kreskin, I have seen that goal replay so many times it will probably haunt my sleep - there is no way to really tell if the puck went in off the skate or if it went in off Lundquist's glove or stick. It was good call. And really, what the heck did it matter? There was no way the Sens were going to tie the game with only seconds left and they way they had been playing.

there never was a distinct camera shot proving the puck was kicked, we also watched it many times, BUT the blunder
on that play belongs to the ref, who MISSED neal pushing lunquist with his stick before the puck went in the
net, obviously goalie interference, and the replay people are NOT allowed to make that judgement.
Again the officials made a stupid mistake, and its a good thing that ottawa didn't tie it up, and win
it in overtime, because that play should have been blown dead, neal should have been given an interference
penalty, and no goal, as it turned out, no harm done, 'lucky', torterella would have killed someone, he
is such a loose canon.

during two geneal managers meetings, they were asked if there is any other hockey plays that they would
like added to the video replay, and they said 'NO', so that is why it stays limited to, the puck
crossing the line, and kicked in.

It actually looked like the foot missed the puck, hence allowing the goal.

excellent press conference with mike gillis this morning on the radio, it is so refreshing to finally
listen to a voice of reason and very intelligent, as the media and many fans are completely insane
right now, digging and prying wondering if vineault is going to be fired, and BLAME BLAME BLAME, that
word is their favourite.

He said he felt like the columbus team, and reminded everyone how many points the canucks earned this
season.

He also replied in a little more detail concerning the hodgson trade, as that is also a ridiculous area
where people are going out of their minds, as though, if hodgson was still on the team they would
have won.

He said that over the past 3 years he has given cody hodgson more of his time than 'all' of the other
players put together. He wanted out of the team, and gillis had 6 young players on his list he would
have traded him for, and when kasian became available he 'grabbed' him, a 20 yr old at the time, very
big, with lots of potential. He didn't expect him to come to the team and be a star, he wants to
develope him now, so he can become the best player he can be.

Only one team can win the stanley cup, all of the rest 'don't, but the canucks accomplished more than
most other teams with the presidents' cup and a rack of points, they should be very proud, I know I
am proud to be a fan, and certainly don't see them as failures.

Wasn't me who said - just a couple of commentators on radio and on the city bus. Besides, you had somebody here who thinks that may have been the reason. I personally don't know from nothing.

There are all sorts of different nationalities playing in the NHL, why on earth whould you or anyone else
suggest such a crazy thing as that hispanic nonsense.

Torres has earned the 25 games, and earned it well, he has repeated stupid moves many times, and this
incident was just another one, he has been suspended, been fined over and over, and he can't seem to
learn, and his nationality has nothing to do with it, and the suggestion it has, is really quite hillarious,
I have never heard of any such thing since I have watched the NHL, and that is about 60 years.
I can't imagine why anyone would even think up such an idea, or maybe its a thing
connected the the american culture in some places in the u.s., but canadians and the
NHL has no interest in such thoughts.
Brendon Shanahan is a canadian, I would like to be a fly on the wall if someone
accused him of discriminating because of someones race, he would be floored.

22-year-old, 3rd string rookie goalie Braden Holtby is taking his Washington Capitols to the second round.

ROCK ON BRADEN - WELCOME TO THE BIG LEAGUE

Congratulations to Dale Hunter on a job well done. Congratulations to the winning goal scorer - Joel Ward and Knuble for setting him up.

And congratulations, in a losing cause to Tyler Sequin who scored the only Boston goal of the game.

Na, na, na, na, Na, na, na, na.........Hey, hey, hey--------Good Bye Boston!

I hope that this win by the Capitols inspires the Senators to take their game 7 in the Rangers backyard and keep a Canadian team in the play-offs. Alfie deserves this win.

GO SENATORS GO!

We changed channels in between the end of reg. time and overtime, turned it back on, and it was over.

Good for washington, i'm glad for them, and good riddance boston.

Now, all we need to see is ottawa oust those rangers, that would be sweet.

I guess Chara and the boys were intimidated.

yeah, how can one explain the tough guys now, not as tough as they thought.

even last year, boston only got into the playoffs because of a shoot out win, otherwise
they would have been on the outside looking in.

just proves again, that once a team gets in the playoffs, they can win it, any team
can win it, its just a short tournament, anything can happen in such a short time,
and I guess thats part of the fun.

go ottawa go

Dale Hunter couldn't stop grinning in the post-game interviews. The Capitols are real grinders, not a lot of finesse but they can be the very devil on the boards and behind the net and they don't lack in imaginative goal scorers. Their PKs were really good.

And they had an unknown ace-in-the-hole, Braden Holtby. The goal that Tyler got through on Braden happened when Holtby, Sequin and another Senator player were flat on the ice in the blue circle, Tyler was able to beat the other two to tip the puck in - it weren't pretty, but it was a goal, the only one the Bruins were able to get on Braden though not for lack of trying and chance.

The Capitols played the better game and really deserve this win.

I had to count to ten before I could actually believe what happened, as I tuned in late.

Dale Hunter seemed to have reined this team in and made it his, even though Ovetchkin is still whining
like a spoiled brat, he better take a step back and have more respect for his coach.

If anyone remembers Dale Hunter, when he played, he was a very 'dirty' player, he isn't a stranger
to getting things done anywhichway, not sayin he is telling his players to be that way, i'm sure he
has grown up since those days, but he won't let them be sissys thats for sure.
Semin better get his ass in gear, or he will be shipped back to russia this summer, he is so lazy,
but has tons of talent that he doesn't use properly, well, if they want to move along in these playoffs
now, he better get to it.
