me too, but I have to admit that at the moment my excitement is because Seattle is going to build a
new rink, to get basketball to come back, and also to have an NHL team, and I would love that to happen, have always wanted seattle to be part of this west coast group, so I am hoping for them too.

Oh yes, a team in Seattle would be very exciting and good for both cities as the fans would definitely travel back and forth. Still, I would love to see another NHL team here in our country.

St. Louis is in Winnipeg for a game with the Jets. Mason is in goal for the Jets tonight. Glad the Jets are in their own rink for this game as it will be a tough one for them.

GO, JETS, GO!

Be nice to see Winnipeg win this one, St. Lou's breath is a little warm on the Canucks' neck!

Speaking of NHL Hockey the Question of the Day is

Why Do So Many Canadian Hockey Teams Suck So Bad?

As of this minute Toronto is getting sh!t kicked by Washington and being booed off the ice @ MLG, Ottawa is being pounded to a pulp by Boston, Winnipeg sucked hind teat while playing St Louis, Montreal was punched out by Washington last night, the Oilers disgraced themselves in Phoenix as per SOP and no doubt Calgary will crumble tonight against Philadelphia.

In fact the only NHL team worth watching is the Canucks.

...Winnipeg sucked hind teat while playing St Louis

They out shot them 41 - 16 and lost in a shoot out. What is your definition of "sucking hind teat"

Canadian teams make up 23% of the NHL so statistically, they should have three or four teams make the playoffs. Currently, there are three in playoff positions with two more knocking on the door. You really don't know much about hockey do you?

Considering they are the 'new kids on the block', I think they are doing well to be sitting in 8th spot, tied with the Panthers at 68 points a piece.

I always thought it was foolish when they moved the team out of Winnipeg years ago- possibly because our dollar was way below par at the time. After all Winnipeg is in the heart of hockey country. My memory escapes me but was that the team they moved to Phoenix?

just a couple of more hours till the hockey trade deadline passes, and just three trades so far.

kostitson has gone to nashville to join his brother

also commadore has been traded again, he's been around.

gilbert to minnesota for nick sholtz.

just hoping the deadline ends without canucks trading mason raymond, keeping
my fingers crossed.

its over at 12:00 noon pacific time

I'm watching TSN right now and you are right not much going on right now. Couldn't believe it when I saw Mason's pic and name up under 'trade bait' - hope the Canucks don't let him go - he's been so solid lately.

So far a snoozy morning. Andrei Kotstitsyn is the biggest name on the move so far... and that's not saying much.
My hope for the day is that Rick Nash doesn't end up a New York Ranger: he's too young to watch his career die in that monument of misspent dollars and under achievement.

the horn just went, it is over, except for the trades that came in before, but haven't been registered yet,
so a few will be heard for a while

nothing for rick nash, or steve ott, i'm sure they were asking for the moon for nash, and too much
for ott as well, although I like him, and I see his value, I still would not have traded raymond for
him, and they probably would not have traded him for raymond.

cody hodgson and sulzer are now buffalo sabres. very sorry to lose hodgson and sulzer, but this
move is very good for hodgson, he will get more ice time in buffalo, and have a chance to be a
top two forward, as he had to be 3rd line center in vancouver, and he is much
better suited on top two lines, but sedin and kesler are there, no way he could
knock them out of their spots.

cody will be close to his family in toronto, and apparantly the players coming to canucks are
very good, a big power forward who is only 20 years and another player I don't know much about.
zack kassian will be an exciting, strong player for canucks, he is just becoming ready for NHL
play at 20 years old, so on we go.
marc-andre gragnani, don't know much about him.

sulzer was a very good defenceman for canucks, played off and on, but lots of talent.

sad but can't stop and whine, have to move on, i'll look forward to our new players.

This is one facet of Canuck management that I really admire-they build a deep team because teams need to be deep to survive a full season into the playoffs and many find that out only after a few key players are injured.

As one TV announcer said last week "The Canucks don't rebuild they just reload" and it's true.
