amazing juniors they all were.

We actually thought at the time that cody hodgson should have been tournament MVP, but it was john tavares.
but later on cody hodgson was named most valuable player of the canadian junior league, so I guess it
all evened out in the end.

nice look back on all of those, 'now' good NHLrs, not sure about huberdeau, or patrice cormier, where are they.

just saw jamie benn get a bad injury a few games ago, bad skate cut when he and another player fell into
the boards together, just an accident, but he was cut in the inner thigh area, not sure how he is doing,
haven't heard anything more about it.

AND -- jonathan huberdeau is still a junior, boy he must have been very young in that tournament, as
he is playing for the St. John Sea Dogs, major junior hockey, he just got a hat trick the other day,
in a game against the quebec remparts, he was out for quite a while with a broken foot.

Jamie is out for at least three games from what I heard on TSN, talloola and Jonathan Huberdeua was 16 years old back in 2009.

It is so cool to see that the promise they showed back then has been fulfilled and they are still great hockey players today.

He plays for the Saint John SeaDogs, not St Johns. St John's doesn't have a Q-league team any more.

And yes, he's awesome, and he's also a nice guy.

too bad toews isn't playing for chicago tonight, against detroit. I was so looking forward to the
game, (even though it is same time as canucks).

That should be a very good game, but his absence will make a difference. It isn't in detroit, so
wings are vulnerable for a loss, seems at home they aren't.

These matchups are becoming very high intensity now, just as canucks game with nashville should be
as well.

I watched the Hurricanes destroy the Capitals last night, talloola. Ovi played like a spoiled kid and actually tried to steal a puck from a team mate only to turn it over to the Hurricanes who took it down for a goal. The Capitals looked like they completely forgot how to play hockey and the Hurricanes never let up. Nice to see Carolina play such a good game even though they are so low in the standings. Their goalie Peters got his first NHL shut-out. The Caps pulled their goalie Vokoun? early in the 1rst after he let in two Carolina goals, not that it made a difference as Neuvirth faired no better.

Final score: 5 - 0

Have got the Canucks game on the timer so I don't miss a single moment.

GO, CANUCKS, GO!

yes, I watched the game, and ovetchkin even called out one of his players on the bench as soon as they
came off the ice, I guess for not passing him the puck, at least that is what the announcers thought
it was.
They were taught a lesson once again. Ovetchkin has so much going for him, and also so much missing in
his individual game, but his arrogance seems to be over the top, so not sure if he will ever learn.

The other day, I picked up a 'Mr Big' chocolate bar, it's got a picture of Ovetchkin on it, saying 'A big deal, just like me', so I put it back.

Do you guys know if there will be more Juniors action this season? If there is let me know if/when it is shown on TV. If possible, stream it on justin.tv, firstrow, or vipbox.

Thanx!

I would think not, because the juniors go into playoffs before the NHL, so it isn't long till the end
of their regular season, then playoffs.
I'll check around for some playoff info.

it seems it is regular play till middle part of march, then they start playoffs.

I watched the Pens-Rangers last night and for a "dominant" team, the Rangers were lucky to only lose 2-0. The Pens were hard hitting, hard skating and hard working. The Rangers officially managed 27 shots but most were low % ones from outside. I hope these are the versions of both these teams we see from here on in: the Pens looked like contenders and the Rangers like chumps... which bothers me not in the slightest. I have never liked Glen Sather and hate seeing his team doing well (not to mention the whole Islander-Ranger rivalry hatred thing I have going on).

I know what you mean about sather, the typical back room cigar smoking suit.

It seems the rangers are showing some weakness of late, maybe their bubble is bursting.

That'll teach him, TP!

Oh Karlsson just got the first goal in the game. Go, Sens!

Sounds like the kind of person the league could do without, talloola.

yes, the caps just don't seem interested in actually playing this level of hockey.

if they lose tonight and colorado win, caps will drop from 20th to 22nd in the league.

The Caps picked up their play in the 3rd, they are only down 2 with 5:01 left. Come on Sens, hang in there.

Yeah! The Caps pulled their goalie, the Sens scored on the empty net and they win it 5 to 2. Rock on Senators!

"WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Andrew Ladd scored two goals and added an assist as the Winnipeg Jets jumped up in the Eastern Conference standings with a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.

Tanner Glass and Dustin Byfuglien also scored as the Jets (30-26-7) vaulted into first place in the Southeast Division and third in the East with 67 points. Their leap was helped by Toronto’s loss to San Jose and Minnesota’s shootout win over Florida earlier Thursday."

GO, JETS, GO! Not bad for a team that just got back into the league!

I love this story so much, this team is so much fun, good players, great goalie, I am really
enjoying their year, and I hope they can stay where they are now, it was exciting to look into
that stat page and see their name 'third' in the conference because they have taken the lead in
their division.

I hope Bettman is watching this team and in seeing their success might just think about letting us Canadians have another NHL team. Would love to see the Quebec Nordiques come back to us or even a Maritime team.

me too, but I have to admit that at the moment my excitement is because Seattle is going to build a
new rink, to get basketball to come back, and also to have an NHL team, and I would love that to happen,
have always wanted seattle to be part of this west coast group, so I am hoping for them too.
