The dirty little prick, his snaggle-toothed Canadian-hating brood and fanboys should be thankful he wasn't just killed in the first place.

The problem I have with this is that he was a kid. He was a child soldier.

These people are apparently not subject to criminal penalties in the same way that any other person would be. They are tried in a kangaroo court that is clearly more biased towards convictions(only a 2/3rd majority of the jury is needed and the jury is made up soldiers) and denies them basic rights like being able to see the evidence against you and actually being let go if you are found not guilty.
I just wonder Born Ruff does it hurt less when you are shot by a child soldier ?

Does it hurt less when you are shot by someone that the US considers a lawful combatant compared to an unlawful combatant?

We make the distinction between kids and adults in most other areas of law. Why would it be any different here?

As a side note, I'm a wee curious as to where that double post of mine came from. It was only one post when I first created it and only noticed last night that there is now two of the same posts back to back.

Odd.

Odd.

It happens, I think when there's something going on behind the scenes, like an update to software or something, and a posting happening simultaneously. I've seen it before.

Or it's a sign that the first tiny hole has been ripped into the space-time continuum, a portent of certain doom for all of mankind.

But it's probably the former.

He was born in Toronto and grew up in Canada.

Omar Khadr - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Like I said, he willingly traveled to join the fight

He was born in Toronto, and they did move back and forth a bit, but if you read even the link you quoted there, it clearly says that his family lived in Afghanistan for years before the incident.

It says that they moved to Jalalabad in 1996, when he would have been 10 years old. If a 10 year old moves to a different country with his family, do you really think that was completely his own choice? It also says that his family moved towards Pakistan after 9/11 in 2001.

The guy was 15 years old when this happened. Do you really think he had all that much autonomy?
