When it comes to police shootings, the left is always quick to jump on the back of the cop who did the shooting. He’s the police, not a pony. Offload (see HuffPo Factcheck: Actually, Trump is Right about Rise in Anti-Police Shootings… and War on Cops: While Police Mourn Yet Another Murdered Officer, Two More Are Shot…). Progressives like to believe that cops are always evil, even when there is footage to show the contrary. Like in this video below. Use thine eye holes to deduce information and conduct critical thinking.

This is not a trigger warning, but you do see the cop pull the trigger in this clip.

Police in Georgia are under scrutiny following the deadly shooting of an LGBT student activist who was apparently armed with a knife.

Scout Shultz, 21, was shot after being involved in a standoff with police at the Georgia Institute of Technology campus in Atlanta late on Saturday.

Video footage of the standoff shows Schultz slowly walking towards officers and shouting “Shoot me!” during the standoff. The officers are heard encouraging Schultz to drop the knife on several occasions. “Nobody wants to hurt you,” one of the officers said at one point in the video.

The victim’s mother, Lynne Schultz, told the Journal Constitution that Schultz was a talented student but suffered from depression and had attempted suicide two years ago.

She questioned why police used lethal force. “Why didn’t they use some non-lethal force, like pepper spray or tasers?” she said, adding that Schultz had been shot in the heart.

And the outrage begins, first by the organization this young man lead. But when sympathy starts pouring, blubbering SJW’s are quick to stifle any form of true sympathy with political correctness.

If the cop doesn't realize he is dealing with mental health issue and treat it as such, both he and his supporters are just two bit murdering idiots..the idiot cop for shooting a sick person, and his supporters -enablers- are accessories for enabling this type of careless LAZY murder.

Oh and the doctors pushing the drugs that have suicide in the black box warnings to people like this, while getting paid by the drug companies that all the civil serpents have their pension wrapped up in should also all get the chair too.

You all are not much different then them ol nazi doctors experimenting on the prisoners, and the regime that benefitted from it.

Should society be so quick to say that maybe the reason that Scout was depressed was because (it) was not sure what gender it was and this caused concern. Which side of the fence was it on? I do not think that society understands why some genders change from what they were born as, to the other gender. What society tries to convey is that maybe changing your gender (in this case it is apparent the Scout was not sure) what gender it was (read the news article) and this was causing the depression? From what video shows that Scout was asking for someone to end its life, could it be because it was not sure of the change that it had made?
Please note that I have been careful to not show what gender it was as apparently it did not want anyone to know.

If he were black, riots would have ensued.

The cops didn't want to shoot him but he was persistent in his desire to be shot.

My advice to you. Don't call the cops, deal with criminals yourself.

Yup.
After telling the guy over 10 times to drop the knife,
there is no need to question the cops.

Non lethal force still leaves whacko with a knife in his hand, and is still a danger.
He was walking directly towards a cop.
Being shot in the heart only shows the high training of Atlanta PD.

My theory is, if you wave or aim a weapon at the police, you should be willing to accept the consequences, and all bets are off.

For some reason, modern society seems to have this idea that you can hit, spit on, and attack the police, and they're supposed to bake you cookies and serve you milk.

Exactly. Another thing is, no one knows what drugs this guy may be on? And how they affected his mental capacity and his adrenaline may be through the roof? It's tough to subdue a coked up person looking for trouble?

Certainly there's a place for a serious discussion of use of force by the cops.

Equally certainly, this ain't it.

Yep. I've seen cops go overboard,
OK, now THAT would be funny!

and I've seen them be extremely patient.
A friend of mine who's ex-cop, ex-military, and ex-security says that the cops break down into thirds: one third bring their personal problems and emotional deficiencies to work, one third are really decent people who resist being turned into brutes by the system, and the last third will go as they're trained and led.

This place isn't really the place for any serious discussion any longer.
It's a shame, and I regret my part in making it that way.

Still, I'm not sure that a half dozen cops with batons, OC, tasers, and body armor can't take down an emotionally disturbed kid with a knife without plugging him.

I saw this story on FB yesterday and some silly bint asked if they had to shoot him, why couldn't they just shoot him in the leg or shoulder. God some people are stupid.

You get that a lot from non-gun types. I must say, though, he seemed like a prime target for a tasing or a baton round.

That's really the point. How come so many well-equipped officers can't deal with a guy who has a knife, not a gun? Seems very odd to me. Do the cops not learn how to cooperate with each other to distract and disarm people?

Well, they have little incentive to do so.

It's not so much that ignorance that bothers me so much is the idea that a leg or shoulder is somehow a "safe" place to shoot someone. Sever that femoral artery in the leg or the clavian artery in the shoulder and your suspect will bleed out long before an ambulance can get there. Getting gut shot at least gives you a few hours to receive medical attention.

Oh for sure. The application of non-lethal force should have been their first option.

Good point.

My brother is an OPP officer who's never used lethal force but has taken down people with weapons on their person. SJW's still accuse and treat him as a cop who's using police brutality tactics. SJW's aren't interested in facts, they don't distinguish between the right and the wrong way of doing things. They latch on to the victim mentality without using logic.

It was. They repeatedly told him to put the knife down.
