a new Trudeau? I wonder if that would be good or bad. A charismatic leader could take the country just about anywhere. Trudeau cetianly had a vision, but he also in some regards sold people a faulty bill of goods that people are still paying for.

U.S. pundits unleash anti-Canada rhetoric

A teaser:

Prime Minister Paul Martin may have been chastised for his blunt talk on U.S. relations, but his comments have sparked a spate of anti-Canada rhetoric south of the border.

Last week, MSNBC host Tucker Carlson told his audience Canada "is like your retarded cousin you see at Thanksgiving."

"He's nice, but you don't take him seriously."

And that was just one of the famously right-wing political pundit's rants.

"Anybody with any ambition at all, or intelligence, has left Canada and is now living in New York," he told his audience, insisting it was pointless to tell Canada not to criticize the United States. [/teaser]

This is quite the interesting situation, considering His Excellency, Ambassador McKenna, chastised the general population for having a more negative attitude toward the United States than the other way around.

Canada has graciously taken some quite offensive comments in the past; why does the United States seem to be "up in arms" every time they are criticized?

Moreover, the comment that started all of this didn't even name the United States in particular. They are assuming that the Rt. Hon. Paul Martin was referring to them, but that was not made explicitly clear.

Note Edited for typos.

this is exactly how the bastards operate. They have to have the last nasty word. SO LET THEM Who the shag cares?? As if their opinion really means something. sheesh. What children. They talk to hear themselves heard. We have weathered plenty of crap from those toddlers next door and will in the future. Ignore it and move along......keep the focus on what we think is important and these talking heads can talk to themselves. Don't feed them with any reaction and they will fissle out .......and move on to something else to attack. What barbarians.

washington can go straight to Hell........as we are NOT beholding to them and they can spin themselves crazy (which will not take much ) with their stupidity and immaturity. How do you think other nations that are bashed by Washington deal with the US Rambos??? They too know a big fat bully when they see it.....and handle it accordingly.......

We don't have to give speeches about the U.S. .... they are listening in on all our telephone calls anyways.

After listening to George Bush defend the wiretapping of American citizens .... I'm really paranoid now.
