I will be visiting Whitehorse for 6 glorious days,any advice,seeking restraunt,outdoor,shopping advice,will be going to skagway,any haunts i should visit?Let me know.

A little early to really get out and enjoy the wilds. Some of the sites will still be closed but you'll get to meet some of the best people in Canada before the seasonal people and tourist hit and piss them off.
Grey Mountain (walk-hike), Miles Canyon (walk-bridge-boat) are two nearby locations.
All my time there the most interesting parts of the 'north' were away from the town. Such as driving down to Alaska...Skagway and Haines (for scenery and vista) or traveling north to Dawson for kitschy historical sites.
