Hmmm ... glad to see that there is some measure of agreement. Now here's the tough question: are you both satisfied that there is more than ample proof that Christians have engaged in the systematic murder of Muslims in the modern era?

I'm only typing this because, I can't just type NO.

Just an article about how much Christians are murdered for freedom of speech, that compares with the riots and burning effigies that happened elsewhere in the world by Muslims

from the daily telegraph...

THREE Indonesian Christians who were on death row for inciting violence against Muslims in 2000 were executed by firing squad, their lawyer said.
"They have been executed. Their bodies are now undergoing an autopsy at the police hospital," lawyer Roy Rening said.
Mr Rening said he was informed of the executions of Fabianus Tibo, Dominggus da Silva and Marianus Riwu by the prosecutors office in Palu, the capital of religiously-divided Central Sulawesi province, where the men were being held.
Indonesia authorities typically do not inform the public of executions, which are carried out by firing squad and held at undisclosed locations, until several hours after an autopsy is completed.
Mr Rening added that he refused to be present at the deaths to protest a rejection by the state of their last demands, including that their bodies be flown back to their home towns or laid in wake at Palu's main Catholic church.
He was unable to give further details about the precise time of the death, but a flurry of activity had occurred around midnight local time (0400 AEST) at the tightly-guarded jail, where a steady rain drizzled overnight.
The trio were initially scheduled to be shot last month but authorities granted a last-minute reprieve - even following the preparation of their coffins - shortly after Pope Benedict XVI issued a plea for clemency, though a link was denied.
A spokesman for Pope Benedict XVI said the executions were a "defeat for humanity".

What a shame -- it reminds me of my earlier link in which it was proven that even more Catholics have been killed by Hindus which, of course, was ignored by certain critics here. I hope God forgives them.

Why force these women into uncomfortable situations? This is racist and disrespectful. That we wouldn't feel uncomfortable in the same situation is beside the point.

No it isn't racist! Turkey, a predominantly muslim country has long banned the wearing of veils AND headscarves in schools, universities, public offices, and from government functions. Is that racist?!! Tunisia, another muslim country, banned men and women form wearing "religious attire" including the the headscarf at schools and public offices. Authorities say the ban is not aimed at a display of religious belief but against "extremist religious ways of dressing. Is that racist?!!

The fact that historical Muslim countries have issues with the veil and hijab, only serves to highlight the extreme political aspects of Britain's Muslims, who stridently demand the right to wear the far more religiously extreme nikab or face-covering veil. Britain has a long history of accepting immigrants from foreign lands. It seems it is only the muslims who have refused to integrate and prefer seperatism.

Perhaps muslims should be grateful that we haven't followed the example of Turkey and Tunisia. But, of course, they won't be. They'll just continue to play the role of the perpetual victim.

Quite frankly, I'm sick and tired of them. There's an old military saying that people who refuse to integrate would do well to heed. Shape up, or ship out.

So after we have banned the veil, what's next? How about Christian crosses, Jewish yarmulkes, Iroquois haircuts, hippies with long hair...

If women aren't allowed to wear a veil in public, then I guess Christians are going to have to change what women can wear when they get married. How else can wedding guests know for certain that the bride isn't really a suicider Christian jihadist?

If covering your face in public is such a big security problem, then perhaps we should also ban Halloween.

Before you respond you really should read the post properly! Who said anything about banning it in public. I said perhaps we should follow muslim countries who have banned it. If you read properly you will see that it is not a total public ban, but applies to government offices, schools and universities! Furthermore, if it's good enough for a muslim country, why isn't it good enough for a western country, where muslims are the minority?

Rather than twisting the topic to ridiculous levels why don't you try to respond in a more rational manner. By the way, France has banned ALL religious symbols in schools etc.

I totally agree with you, this is about intolerance and discrimination of our society. And it is time people say enough is enough!

The fact that she had not worn her veil at the job interview, pretty much did her in. I guess she was allowed to abstain from her religious convictions on her job interview ... right? You can't argue this case successfully if you're going to be selective about wearing the veil only when most convenient to yourself, as you won't have a leg to stand on.

This 'woman" apeared on last night's newscast wearing a head to toe black robe with nearly most of her eyes visible, hardly just wearing a veil:mad: I suggest she was just too lazy to wash, shave her legs and wear clean clothing every day.
