I'm moving these posts to this Thread. I think they mght fit better here:

Back in Copenhagen...
Earlier Friday, U.S. President Barack Obama arrived in Copenhagen, where he
attended an emergency meeting with 19 other leaders. Obama arrived to drive a
deal, which had eluded leaders throughout the week.

Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown,
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy were
among the attendees. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao chose not to attend the
high-level meeting, sending an envoy in his place.

Harper was not at the meeting as he was not on the guest list. A spokesperson
for the prime minister said the list of countries invited to the meeting had been
compiled for Obama's people as a representative mix of regions and carbon
emitters.

Canada is the largest oil supplier to the USA, as well as its largest Trading
partner, as well as one of the Apex 1 Countries that are suppose to foot the
bill for this plan....what am I missing here? :-?

Oh...it's making more sense now. We'll be told what we will do when the decision
is made, and we'll do it. Of coarse it'll be our own idea, and it'll be a great photo
opportunity with Mr. Obama when his schedule permits....

And with that we will have increased unemployment and this so called recover will carry on well into the next century. This will raise the cost of moving/trucking everything. It is a no win for the people.

"Recession is when your neighbor loses his job.
Depression is when you lose yours.
And recovery is when Obama loses his."

If the U.S. adapts this co2 tax, it won't matter what Canada does, they will be paying the same higher prices we do, maybe even more.
Amen.

Canada says must go in tandem with U.S. on climate | Canada | Reuters

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Prime Minister Stephen Harper brushed off criticism on Friday
that Canada would act on climate change only in parallel with the United States,
saying this was crucial because of North America's economic integration.

"If the Americans don't act, it will severely limit our ability to act, but if the
Americans do act, it is absolutely essential that we act in concert with them,"
Harper told a news conference in Copenhagen at the end of a U.N. climate
summit.
