Election 2020: The Art of the Steal
Commentary by Adrian Norman
November 12, 2020

Audio Video

A coup d’état is taking place in America right now.

Elected officials in this country are selected by the citizens at the ballot box, not by fiat based on the predilections of current or former officials and bureaucrats. Yet, the latter group are seemingly attempting to put their thumb on the scale and tip the results of the 2020 election.

Though American citizens on both sides of the aisle support a transparent process where representatives from both political parties are able to monitor the vote tabulations, political officials are actively impeding one party’s efforts to ensure a fair count.

On the evening of Nov. 4, in Fulton County, Georgia, Republican observers were allegedly told to go home because election officials were closing up, David Shafer, chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, wrote on Twitter. But, after they left, election officials allegedly began processing the ballots in secret without the Republican observers present. The following day, elections officials stopped the GOP from observing the vote counting by operating a forklift “between the place the ballot scanners are located and the area our observers have been instructed to stand,” he said.

Shafer also said he authorized lawyers for the Georgia GOP to file an emergency petition against the Chatham County Board of elections to prevent the “unlawful counting of absentee ballots received after the election,” subsequent to observers watching a woman illegally mix new ballots into a stack of uncounted absentee ballots. Georgia law states that mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted toward a final tally.

By Friday, Biden is said to have taken the lead over Trump in Georgia “with little more than 900 votes separating the candidates,” according to the Associated Press. But, as the president noted on Twitter, there were nearly 9,000 missing military ballots that had not been counted. “Where are the missing military ballots in Georgia,” he wrote. “What happened to them?”

If you were trying to steal an election, this is what it would look like.

Shortly after the election, James O’Keefe, head of Project Veritas, released a video of an interview he conducted with a whistleblower from the United States Postal Service, who stated that Michigan post offices were allegedly backdating ballots that were sent after election day.

“We were issued a directive this morning to collect any ballots we find in mailboxes, collection boxes, just outgoing mail in general, separate them at the end of the day so that they could hand stamp them with [November third’s] date,” the whistleblower said. This order is in complete violation of state law, which requires ballots to be received by the election clerk before the polls close on Election Day.

Adding to the concern over fraud in the Wolverine State, it was revealed on Nov. 6 that a “software glitch” resulted in thousands of votes cast for Republicans being counted for Democrats.

“In Antrim County, ballots were counted for Democrats that were meant for Republicans, causing a 6,000-vote swing against our candidates. The county clerk came forward and said, ‘Tabulating software glitched and caused a miscalculation of the votes,’” Laura Cox, Michigan Republican Party chairwoman, said in a Friday news conference. “We have now discovered that 47 counties used this same software in the same capacity.”

The defective software that is causing these issues is by Dominion Voting Systems, which was used in 30 states in this year’s election.

“We have not yet been able to verify whether similar errors occurred in other counties where that software is being used. And we seek to do that in this lawsuit,” Trump campaign counsel Thor Hearne told reporters during a press call on Nov. 10, referring to a lawsuit to be filed in Michigan later that day.

Attorney Sidney Powell had earlier alleged software played a role and called for an investigation.

“That is where the fraud took place, where they were flipping votes in the computer system or adding votes that did not exist. We need an audit of all the computer systems that played any role in this fraud whatsoever,” Powell said in a Nov. 8 interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News.

“They had this all planned, Maria. They had the algorithms, they had the paper ballots waiting to be inserted if and when needed, and notably President Trump’s vote in the blue states went up enormously,” she said. “That’s when they had to stop the vote count and go in and replace votes for Biden and take away Trump votes.”

Also, on Nov. 9, GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel presented 131 affidavits and more than 2,800 incident reports that document reports of alleged election fraud and intimidation in Michigan. An affidavit is a sworn statement, made under oath, and is legally binding. If the affidavit contains false information, the person signing it is subject to perjury charges. So, all of this information is actual testimony and is considered evidence of potential election fraud and malfeasance.

If you were trying to steal an election, this is what it would look like.

In Philadelphia, officials hatched a plan to accept and count mail-in ballots that were received up to three days after the election and that don’t even have a postmark. So, there’s no way to know when the ballot was sent or (more importantly) from where. Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar said on Nov. 10 about 10,000 mail-in ballots were received between 8 p.m. polling day and 5 p.m. Nov. 6.

This matters when considering that by Friday newly processed mail-in ballots had supposedly cut Trump’s lead to less than 20,000 votes. It’s worth noting that on Nov. 5, the Public Interest Legal foundation (PILF) filed a lawsuit against the Pennsylvania Department of State for “failing to reasonably maintain voter registration records under federal and state law” after the watchdog group found at least 21,000 deceased registrants on the state’s voter rolls in the final weeks of the 2020 election cycle.

Trump, on Twitter on Nov. 6, loosely quoted attorney and former special counsel Ken Starr on the alleged corruption taking place in Pennsylvania:

“This is what we know. We have to go back to the state level and how this morass came to be in the first instance. The Governor, Wolf, and the State Supreme Court, flagrantly violated the Constitution of the U.S.,” Starr, a former federal Court of Appeals judge and solicitor general, said in an interview with Fox Business’ Varney & Co., according to Trump. “The power to set these rules and regulations is vested in the Legislature. They just ignored that, ignored the Constitution.

“Now we bring it down to the counting houses, and outrageously, observers, who are the sentinels of integrity & transparency, were excluded. Pennsylvania has conducted itself in a horrible lawless way, and hopefully this will be corrected at the Supreme Court of the United States,” he said. “Also, these late ballots past Election Day are illegal, exactly what the President has been saying. … The Supreme Court, in extraordinary circumstances, has been able to render decisions in a matter of days.”

Meanwhile, on Thursday and Friday, Project Veritas released two additional videos showing interviews with whistleblowers who stated that USPS in Pennsylvania also allegedly engaged in election fraud by illegally backdating ballots.

Finally, recall that, 1) Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro said just days prior to the election “if all the votes are added up in PA, Trump is going to lose,” and, 2) Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State—who oversees the election—said in 2016 and 2017 that Trump demeaned the office of the presidency and that he was “dangerously unfit” for office.

If you were trying to steal an election, this is what it would look like.

On Nov. 9, U.S. Attorney General William Barr authorized federal prosecutors to investigate “substantial allegations” of election fraud. In a memo (pdf) to the most senior officials within the Department of Justice (DOJ), he states that “inquiries and reviews may be conducted if there are clear and apparently-credible allegations of irregularities that, if true, could potentially impact the outcome of a federal election in an individual state.”

Barr instructed officials to defer the investigation of claims of irregularities that, if true, would not impact the outcome of a federal election in an individual state until after the election certification process is complete. He also stated that “specious, speculative, fanciful or far-fetched claims should not be a basis for initiating federal inquiries.”

Though many publications and commentators continue to falsely state there’s no evidence of fraud or irregularities in this election, we have clear examples from across the country, including a criminal referral sent to the DOJ from the Nevada GOP documenting “at least 3,062 instances of voter fraud.” Whether or not those crimes get punished and/or those illegal votes become disqualified remains to be seen.

Conclusion

We are reaching the completion of a year in which the quality of our election integrity and security was intentionally eroded with the foreseeable outcome being chaos and discord, which would then be leveraged to steal the election from President Trump.

The CCP virus panic was exploited and used as the basis to institute widespread mail-in voting, a system that we already knew was unsecure. The polling this year was even worse than in 2016, because pollsters—along with corrupt figures within the mainstream media establishment—pushed the lie that Biden was ahead by wide margins to be able to claim that these fraudulent election results have merit.

After the Mueller investigation failed and the Democrats’ impeachment scheme failed, this was their final Hail Mary to try and oust from office a duly elected President of the United States.

A Critical Moment in History
Commentary by The Tuidang Center
November 13, 2020

The United States stands at a critical moment in history. Factors of the specter of socialism and communism are trying to subvert the great democratic system of the United States, trying to steal the election in the United States.

Only a short while ago, the United States was widely recognized as the greatest country on Earth. The democratic system and the rule of law in the United States have guaranteed world peace and ensured a bright future for all of humanity. The reason the United States is so powerful is that the founders of this nation laid out the fundamental principles: respect freedom of belief, freedom of speech, democracy, and the rule of law. The nation was founded upon a firm belief in the existence of God. All of these stand in contradiction, by nature, to the evil communism that has flooded the world.

As history has come to today, all the activities in our society have manifested as a great struggle between the forces of good and evil in the universe.

This election is not only about the reelection of President Donald Trump. It is the war between good and evil in the universe, manifested in the human world.

Over many years, the factors of the specter of communism and the evil Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have regarded the United States as their mortal enemy. They have plotted the decline of morality among all nations through blackmail, bribery, corruption, violence, deceit, and the destruction of traditions. They have infiltrated the United States and the entire world through pervasive evil means. Their evilness has its influence in all fields in society, including politics, business, culture, technology, education, media, and nongovernmental organizations. Through wicked means, they have beaten the United States black and blue. Their evil purpose is to force all nations and all people of the world to stand in opposition to God. This is the work of the evil that aims to destroy human beings. This dying specter of communism has reached its peak of madness. Its evil is expressed in the chaos of this election.

We, the Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party, firmly resist communist infiltration into this U.S. election. We support all legal actions undertaken against alleged fraud in the election process.

We believe, no matter how crazy the evil acts, it will only last a short while. All righteous deities will not stand by. Justice will prevail. President Donald Trump is carrying God’s mission and leading the United States back to tradition, disintegrating the CCP. President Donald Trump carries the mission given by God to lead the people.

All righteous forces in this world will certainly stand with President Trump. Chinese people and billions of people around the world who have been victimized by communism will stand together with President Trump.

On July 1, 2017, President Trump at a speech at Freedom University said, “American people don’t worship the government. We worship God.”

Let us pray to God together that the Creator will help awaken people’s sense of justice and conscience in this difficult time, provide people with wisdom, protect the United States and the people of the world, and lead all of the humankind towards a bright future.

May the Creator bless the United States and make the United States great again!

The Tuidang movement began when the Chinese-language edition of The Epoch Times printed an editorial series called the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. Tuidang is not a political movement; it is based on traditional Chinese moral values and asks people to renounce the oaths they have given to the CCP, which all Chinese people have had to do since childhood. On the Election Fraud of November 2020

J.R. Nyquist
Nov. 11, 2020

The people of the rural Midwest are solid. Especially farmers. Having left California for the rural Midwest, I’ve had a chance to make new friends. One of them was kind enough to share her thoughts about the election. Here is Mary’s open letter to President Donald J. Trump, urging him to fight:

“FREEEE-DOMM,” cries William Wallace at the most climactic moments of the movie Braveheart. And that noble and profound shout emanates and reverberates now, from the enormous heart of an admittedly—until 2016—unlikely man, namely, President Donald J. Trump.

In this, an open letter to President Trump and to all Republican lawmakers, I offer an urgent message from a wife and mother who is raising up boys in the rural Midwest.

Mr. President, I urge you to stay the course. Just as you have fought for all American workers, taxpayers, troops, veterans, the unborn, and many others, now you are fighting for the sanctity of the American vote. Please, I beg you, continue taking this election fight to the courts, just as William Wallace took his fight straight to the English. So much about these election “results” stinks. Normal people see it.

And hear me, Republican party lawmakers across America, you are the “nobles,” from the Braveheart story. Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to dig deep and find some selfless heroism somewhere inside your collective souls so that we can change the Braveheart ending. To you, I say, stand with our Braveheart. Do not conspire against him for your own gain, lest you be remembered as the reason America’s election integrity was trashed forever without murmur in front of God and everybody, and our freedoms of speech, assembly, press, religion, to bear arms, and more were lost to a Harris—yes, Harris—administration.

As a parent I have learned to “inspect what you expect.” Shouldn’t America do the same? In our home, a child’s coverup is a worse offense than any original disobedience. And so it should be in our great republic. Republican efforts to hastily move beyond the election, to ignore the brazen and audacious fraud committed in full public view, are nothing less than a coverup, and are thus a morally worse act than the original malfeasance.

Even children watching on election night recognized that vote counting was mysteriously halted at the key moment and in the key states, at just the point when the President’s enormous leads could be rightly assessed (and algorithms deployed?). Even children found it “weird” that vote counting had to be paused for any reason whatsoever in a country as technologically advanced as ours. Since then, votes have been “found” and poll-watchers forcefully shut out, as Democrats scrambled—for 72 hours at this writing—to counter President Trump’s enormous leads. Wisconsin’s registered voter turnout was 90%, we’re told. Sure it was. And 47 Michigan counties suffered “computer glitches” in Mr. Biden’s favor. Right. We tell our children that “nothing good happens after midnight.” And so it was that votes for Mr. Biden were “dumped” in Michigan and Wisconsin at three and four in the morning on November 4. And the number of known dead persons who “voted” grows daily.

And big tech and mainstream media sycophants have obliged their Democrat overlords by censoring and thwarting every rightful effort by at least half of this country’s citizens to discuss, organize, protest, or otherwise counter the Democrats’ long-planned dirty pool.

Every illegal vote disenfranchises at least one American citizen, no matter their race, class, creed, gender or ideology. Are our Republican politicians and state and federal legislatures going to sit still for such malfeasance, like neglectful parents? If so, what reason will anyone have, going forward, not to cheat? Good parents know this. Why is it so hard for our Republican lawmakers to get on board and sound the alarm? Proper methodical investigations will either prove the wrongdoing, or debunk it. Either way the citizens of our country need to know, and, more to it, they have a constitutional and God-given right to know.

And as for the non-elected class, will our Supreme Court continue to look the other way as, for example, Pennsylvania’s Democrats openly thwart the United States Constitution by bypassing their state legislature, and judicially changing election laws at the eleventh hour?

Mr. President, on behalf of, not only myself, but also so many family, friends and neighbors, I profoundly thank you for everything you have selflessly done for our country since January 2017. We recognize and lament the egregious, relentless and baseless attacks you and your family have endured since your election, and we fully support you and your teams as you take this fight for the heart and soul of our great nation to the courts – instead of to the streets as I believe Mr. Biden would do in your place, and may still do, given the Democrats’ strong ties to Antifa and BLM.

To our Republican lawmaker “nobles” currently doing nothing, or worse, I say, don’t be foolish—they are coming for you next. We must fight on—alongside President Trump—and, with God’s help, we must win. Our precious constitutional FREEEE-DOMMs, entrusted to us by our Founders, are now hanging in the balance.

Mary

Mary’s open letter to Trump says it all. Like many Americans, I believe Trump won the election. We saw all the telltales, just as Mary noted. Even children can see it. And if we don’t fight against this corruption, we’re finished.

Election Fallout Reveals Battle Between Freedom and Communism
A choice that transcends the political Right and Left

Epoch Times Editorial Board
November 13, 2020

When the founders of our newspaper fled a communist regime to come to America, they never expected that this great nation would one day become the focal point of the battle between communism and freedom.

Many Americans believe communism is an abstract concept, something that only affects faraway nations, without realizing that it has already arrived at our doorstep.

Communism has spread in America under names such as socialism, progressivism, liberalism, neo-Marxism, and so on, in a slow process over decades of systematic subversion by first the Soviet Union, and now the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

This cumulative battle for the future of America—and with it, the rest of the world—is now coming to a head in the U.S. presidential election.

This is a conflict that transcends partisanship and party affiliation.

Belief in God has always been fundamental to America. The early colonists fled to the United States so that they could practice their religion freely. The United States was founded on the belief that we are all created equal by God and endowed by the Creator with our rights. The U.S. motto is “In God we trust.”

Belief in God and the principles derived from that belief are the fundamental reasons why the United States can enjoy freedom, democracy, and prosperity, and why the United States has become the nation it is today.

In this great tradition, voting is a sacred duty in which each citizen may take responsibility for who governs. This year, a record number of Americans voted to choose their next leader.

We have since learned that this process has been subverted. Numerous credible allegations of voter fraud have emerged, pointing to a systematic effort to change the outcome of the election.

The far-left and the communist devil behind it—the same force that Karl Marx once described as haunting Europe—are using lies, fraud, and manipulation in an attempt to deprive the people of their rights and freedoms.

One of the two major U.S. parties, the Democratic Party, is no longer the political party it used to be. Over the decades, it has gradually been infiltrated by the same Marxist ideology that has created the most brutal and repressive communist regimes in history.

Communist ideology, including socialism and its associated ideas, is not a normal ideology. It is the ideology that has caused the unnatural deaths of at least 100 million people.

The communist ideology uses seemingly righteous concepts, such as “equality” and “political correctness,” to confuse people. Its ideology has infiltrated all fields in our society, including education, media, and art. It unscrupulously destroys everything that is traditional, including faith, religion, morality, culture, family, art, education, law, and so on, and leads people to fall into moral depravity.

This is the ideology of totalitarianism, one that drives once thriving nations such as Venezuela into the abyss and that was able to destroy 5,000 years of culture in China, where people went from a belief in the divine to a devotion to the state.

It is the systematic undoing of all that is good that humankind stands for. It is diametrically opposed to goodness, fairness, truth, and compassion.

This has not only undermined people’s spirits and their righteous faith in God, but has dragged the American people and all of mankind to the brink of danger.

A Choice Between Good and Evil

This is a conflict that transcends party lines, a battle between whether we as Americans can stay true to our founding principles and follow God’s will, or whether we will be subjected to forces that seek to control and destroy our most fundamental rights.

This is not something we say lightly; because our founders lived through communist totalitarianism, they understand its destructive force.

As a media organization, we are independent and don’t take positions on political issues or candidates, but rather stand for truth and justice.

America has now come to the brink of falling into a communist abyss.

At the center of this battle is now President Donald Trump, who has clearly said no to socialism and communism and ended decades of appeasement of the Chinese regime by enacting a nation-wide effort to counter its influence and infiltration.

Trump has confronted the CCP at this critical moment in history.

To communist China, the trajectory has been clear: Trump is an American president who values tradition and opposes communism, and as long as he leads, the Chinese regime knows it won’t succeed in its decades-long objective to overthrow America and with it the rest of the free world.

We have communist China at our gates, ready to take over. The CCP has carefully studied the U.S. system over the decades and now has successfully taken advantage of our open society and infiltrated our country.

Internally, we have far-left groups such as Black Lives Matter and Antifa organizing protests and riots. The movement is similar to the CCP’s Cultural Revolution, which destroyed the cultural heritage and traditions of the nation. It is an anti-American movement, just like the Cultural Revolution was anti-Chinese. The core of the movement’s ideology is no different from that of the communist movement in China, and it goes hand in hand with the CCP, ready to subvert America.

The impact of this election is far reaching. It has made clear to people, governments, and organizations around the world that they must decide whether they stand with the communist devil or with tradition and universal values.

More and more people are realizing that the 2020 U.S. election is not a two-party fight, not a dispute between Trump and Joe Biden, but a battle between tradition and socialism, a battle between good and evil, a battle between the divine and the communist devil.

Trump Lawyer: “Our Country Is at War with Communist China, a War of Good vs. Evil”

Nov. 15, 2020 | By Minghui correspondent Ying Zi

Lucian Lincoln “Lin” Wood, a U.S. lawyer, recently joined President Trump’s legal team in response to the large scale voter fraud in the presidential election.

During a press conference by the Republican National Committee in Georgia on November 6, 2020, Mr. Wood emphasized that the U.S. is having a Constitutional crisis and “if we don’t get it right,” people would lose their Constitutional rights.

During the press conference, Mr. Wood said that President Trump was having a historic landslide victory on election night, when all of a sudden, his lead disappeared and most major networks, including Fox News, began to report that Joe Biden won the election.

“There is a cloud over this country. And if we don’t get it right and we don’t figure out what happened that night, that cloud is going to get darker and darker, until it turns into a storm cloud and we are going to lose our freedom. So it is time to fight back,” he said.

“This is a Constitutional crisis. If we don’t fix it and find out what happened and get it right, we are going to lose our Constitutional rights.”

Attorney Wood said that during his 43 years of practicing law, he never dreamed that people would be censored in the United States. He said if they take away people’s right of speech, then they would limit people’s right to go to church, followed by their First Amendment Right, their Second Amendment Right and then due process. After that, people might be put in jail for being “a dissenting voice to the ruling elite” without a jury trial. “This is about truth vs. lies,” he said.

Mr. Wood also tweeted that the U.S. is “at war with Communist China” and it’s a “war of good vs. evil.” He said on Twitter that the Chinese Communist Party “has been creeping into our country over decades. Schools, movies, television, Internet, government officials & politicians. Communists brag they will take our country over without firing a shot. Only We The People can stop it.”

In one Tweet, he said that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) spent two decades infiltrating media, as well as local, state and national government officials through ideology, money and extortion. Then the CCP unleashed the Covid-19 pandemic to attack the U.S., before getting involved in the mail ballot fraud. Additionally, the CCP also has connections with the Dominion company, whose vote counting system was reported to have switched 2.7 million Trump votes to Biden.

Attorney Wood called on the American people to “think for ourselves,” “fight for our freedom” and “don’t be manipulated.”

Opinion: Pfizer, Biden, and the Birth of ‘Socialism With American Characteristics’
Commentary by Roger L. Simon
November 13, 2020; Updated November 14, 2020

One of the more disturbing events of our disturbing times was the revelation Pfizer CEO Dr. Albert Bourla informed the Biden campaign of the success of his company’s COVID-19 vaccine before the current president and his administration.

In fact, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said he learned about the breakthrough from media reports—this although President Trump and his people gave significant support, financial and otherwise, via Operation Warp Speed, to Bourla’s company, something the Pfizer CEO tried to deny.

Now that Trump has signed the executive order he promised making the vaccine free for all, the company stands to make a killing at taxpayer expense.

But Bourla himself had already done that. He sold $5.6 million of shares on the day of the announcement when Pfizer stock rose 8 percent. A watchdog group is calling on the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate.

What we are witnessing is the infiltration of the Chinese system into America. We can call it “Socialism with American Characteristics,” our own version of “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.”

(Actually both are a masquerade for government-structured oligarchic capitalism—more on that later.)

We would likely see much more of this, perhaps a complete takeover by this approach, in a Biden-Harris administration.

The system in China dates back to Deng Xiaoping who rescued their economy from the extreme impoverishment that stemmed from the strictures of Marxist-Leninist-MaoZedong-thought during the Cultural Revolution. He did this by informing their citizenry he didn’t care if a cat was black or white as long it captured mice, a witty metaphor telling the Chinese people a form of capitalism was okay… up to a point.

Unfortunately, Deng, who seemed so modern, did not abandon the totalitarian aspects of communism, as we saw demonstrated since he was in charge during the Tiananmen Square massacre.

Now we have China under Xi Jinping continuing with Xi’s version of “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,” allowing for a “socialism,” undoubtedly unrecognizable to Marx, that can make you a plutocrat billionaire as long as you or sufficient numbers of your executives are members of the CCP and mouth “egalitarian” communist rhetoric, as ludicrously hypocritical as it is.

In reality it’s a get-rich scheme for those who don’t care about despotism or can make peace with it. It’s a far more orderly system than free-market capitalism with fewer opportunities for advancement among the hoi polloi unless they join the party or leave the country.

“Socialism with American Characteristics” will be somewhat subtler at first because of the numbers of people in our society who grew up believing in such things as freedom of speech, assembly and religion, traditions of Anglo-Saxon culture that date back to the Magna Carta and have no place in Communist China or communist-anything.

Our schools, however, not to mention popular culture and a good swatch of our media, have been preparing the way for some time for the dissolution of these traditions. What are “woke-ness” and “cancel culture” but a frontal assault on free speech?

If the word “socialism” makes some of our people recoil, at least in the short run, it doesn’t matter. It’s not really socialism anyway. That’s a myth. It’s really oligarchic capitalism similar to what you have in Russia with the government determining winners and losers. China is just a spruced-up, more effective version of that with some of the rhetoric still intact and other parts altered to fit the business climate.

Marx claimed he was after the “withering away of the state.” This is the opposite.

Ours will be a country governed by an alliance of corporate giants from tech to Big Pharma (see Pfizer) in league with self-described liberal or progressive politicians who profit directly and/or indirectly from them.

The masses would remain, well, the masses.

In other words. “Socialism with American Characteristics” would be post-modern serfdom.

How do we stop it?

For now, elect Republican senators in Georgia to put a temporary brake on things.

Then we have a lot of thinking to do.

Camouflage of Communism in the Free World

Dec. 25, 2020 | By Shi Zhong

(Minghui.org) Democrat-turned-Republican Representative Jeff Van Drew from New Jersey said in an interview on November 9 that Donald Trump represents the interests of the general public, not the elite class.
“He showed how politics could be better, that you really could work and fight for the average person,” he remarked, “The people who vote, the average, everyday working people out there need to be listened to and not forgotten about, and certainly not looked down upon, and that was happening a great deal.”

“It's like, they have that saying, ripping the Band-Aid off and seeing what's underneath,” he added, “[Trump] did
that and he showed the seamy side, quite frankly, of politics.”
This is an accurate description of the current situation in the U.S. For those who have been through communism movements or come from communist countries, what’s happening in America is a prelude to communism.

An Attempt to Rewrite History

Rewiring history to fit its own narratives is common across communist countries. Unfortunately, such a trend is also coming to the U.S.

Socialists know that communism has failed in almost all communist countries. Therefore, they are trying to push through the communism agenda through alternative routes instead of blindly copying the model in Soviet Union or China.

Such a path was also proposed by Italian communist Antonio Gramsci, who advocated to subvert Western culture from inside, which is known as “the long march through the institutions.”
“Socialism is precisely the religion that must overwhelm Christianity,” he explained, “In the new order, Socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches, and the media by transforming the consciousness of society.”

This has almost become a reality. The New York Times Magazine launched the 1619 Project, claiming arrival of the first enslaved Africans in the Virginia colony as the birth of America. It challenged the history of United States since 1776. Through collaboration with the Pulitzer Center and the Smithsonian, the project has produced many publications and curriculum for school.

In some cities, BLM advocates had started to destroy statues of American founding fathers and burn U.S. flags. Viewed by many as a culture revolution similar to that launched by Mao Zedong in China, it intends to fundamentally change the U.S. history and undermine the Christian heritage. “We are trained Marxists,” said Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors during an interview with Real News Network.

To address this issue, Trump announced to establish a 1776 Commission in a meeting in September for patriotic education. On November 2, he issued an executive order to launch the commission to “better enable a rising generation to understand the history and principles of the founding of the United States in 1776.”

This is not something trivial. Considered the beacon of the free world, the U.S. was built on faith, liberty, and democracy. Were all these changes to happen, all these values would be discarded very soon.

A similar situation already happened in China about 70 years ago. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) took power in 1949, it called the country “New China” while claiming the era before 1949 as the “Old Society,” implying that everything associated with it should be weeded out. During the Cultural Revolution and other political movements, the CCP instigated people to attack Confucius and destroy the Four Old (namely, Old Ideas, Old Culture, Old Habits, and Old Customs).

This not only applied to ideologies, but also physical objects. Ancient temples were demolished, Confucius statues were smashed, priceless art works were burned, and finally countless intellectuals were tortured and humiliated in public to break their caliber. Were these things to happen in America, what kind of world would we live in?
“Soon You Won’t Recognize America,” remarked Trump with worries. He knew that those who rewrite history would instill hatred in the young generation against our culture and nation.

Socialism and Communism: Track Record of Failure

Socialism is a popular topic in some of the young Americans and surveys showed more than half of them support the idea. One example is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), one of the first members of the Democratic Socialists of America elected to Congress.

After the coronavirus pandemic broke out due to mishandling by the CCP and concerted voice from WHO, the oil industry faced a disastrous blow, which has cost hundreds of thousands of jobs and could put many U.S. producers out of business. AOC, on the other hand, was thrilled.

“You absolutely love to see it,” she tweeted. “This along with record low interest rates means it’s the right time for a worker-led, mass investment in green infrastructure to save our planet,” reported Washington Times in an article on April 26 with the title of “AOC and her communist buddies embrace a COVID-19 world.”

She also encouraged people to take advantage of the unemployment benefits instead of going back to work when when government says so. However, she had millions of followers on Twitter including both teenagers and adults.

This is an unfortunate situation, said Paul Rubin, professor of economics at Emory University. “Some of the most fervent supporters of socialism are college students—and at most universities, capitalism is a dirty word. The young people supporting socialism are our students, and we should teach them the problems with this fashionable but flawed economic system,” he wrote in a October 2018 article titled “Paul Rubin: We Must Teach
College Students Basic Economics.”

He further explained this in a 2000 book with a title of A Students Guide to Socialism: How It Will Trash Your Lives. More specifically, the consequences of socialists include poverty, less freedom, expensive and costly goods, less

innovation, and worse environment.
In contrast, the productivity and wealth in the U.S. comes from capitalism. “The young people who are the sharpest critics of capitalism are themselves highly dependent in their daily lives on the products of capitalism. These include computers themselves, mobile phones, Amazon, Facebook, Instagram, Uber, Skype, Spotify, computer games, and almost any other modern product,” Rubin wrote, “Additionally, the creators of these products are among the ‘millionaires and billionaires’ despised by socialists.”

History often repeats itself and similar situations also occurred in China. In 1915, the magazine of New Youth appeared in China that criticized traditional values and promoted socialism. It was quickly hijacked by the CCP for its communism propaganda. From 1937 to 1945, Mao always advanced the communism ideology in the name of “democracy” and “liberty.” Countless people were deceived and some intellectuals who lived overseas returned to China to join the new government, only to be suppressed during numerous political movement after the the CCP took power in 1949.

The lies did not stop there. After the Cultural Revolution, Deng Xiaoping claimed China to be in the “Primary Stage of Socialism.” After the dissolution of Soviet Union and Eastern Europe communist bloc, the CCP proposed “Socialism with Chinese Characters.” But the political movements continue, and censorship as well as disinformation remained the same.

Atheism and Deviation from American Spirit

The socialism has advanced quickly in the U.S. and one example is California, where governor Gavin Newsom has closed churches, schools, gyms, and restaurants claiming them “non-essential.” At the same time, strip clubs, abortion clinics, and marijuana vendors were allowed to open.

Rob McCoy, a pastor from Thousand Oaks, had been fined thousands of dollars for holding church due to the restriction. He said the situation is “insane.” “Cannot America see the hypocrisy and the stupidity of all this? You’re being lied to,” he remarked in November, “We are finished with your tyranny and we are going to enjoy Thanksgiving and we’re going to worship God.”

U.S. is a country founded on faith. In 1956, President Dwight D Eisenhower approved a law stating “In God we trust” as the national motto to strengthen freedom during the Cold War. “In these days when imperialistic and materialistic communism seeks to attack and destroy freedom, we should continually look for ways to strengthen the foundations of our freedom,” explained Representative Charles E. Bennett who introduced the bill in the House at the time.
Still, other than U.S. President Ronald Reagan and U.K. Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, very few politicians paid attention to it. Although more than 90% of Americans believed in God according to a survey of over 4,000 people by Pew Research Center in 2017, the current pace of socialism agenda in the U.S. is very alarming.

The socialism trend was clearly seen in the past few months including the U.S. election. In California, robbery of less than $950 was no longer considered a felony, resulting in the crime rate increasing dramatically. Without an effective border control, illegal immigrants would come to America at will. Other agendas include advocating for same-sex marriage and legalization of marijuana.

“The Democrats put an accent on every disturbing development during the Trump years, but not on the disorder that has caused countless millions of dollars in property damage, killed and injured innocent people, and contributed to rising lawlessness in cities around the country. About that, they maintained a discreet silence” wrote Rich Lowry, editor of the National Review in Boston Herald on August 26. with a title of “The crisis in our cities that Democrats dare not mention.”

To some degree, this is similar to the chaos that occurred in communist countries before the party took over power or following political movements. “Everything under heaven is in utter chaos; the situation is excellent,” wrote Mao when he instigated the Red Guards for the Cultural Revolution.

By attacking traditional values, the CCP destroyed culture and morality. The destruction continues today, one example being the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, a mind-body practice based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, in the past 21 years and counting. Over 4,000 Falun Gong practitioners are confirmed to have died as a result of the persecution. Jiang Zemin, former CCP leader who launched the suppression, had been sued in several countries for crime against humanity and torture.

In the Name of “Equality”

On November 3, Californian voters rejected Proposition 16 that aimed to restore affirmative action. This proposition, if passed and becoming law, would have allowed California’s public agencies, universities and community colleges to consider race, gender and ethnicity when making decisions on contracts, hiring and student admissions.

“We have successfully defeated a far-left measure in America’s bluest state,” Wenyuan Wu, executive director of Californians for Equal Rights, said in a statement issued on November 4. “We won and the principle of equality has prevailed again, against a powerful opponent backed by the political establishment, corporate billionaires, and special interest groups.”

Another advocate, Saga Conroy, said the affirmative action offends traditional notions of America as a land of equal opportunity, where anyone can make it if they work hard. Similar to other initiatives from the Democratic Party, it tends to make people less motivated and greedier.

Former congressman Curtis Bowers is producer of documentary Agenda: Grinding America Down that exposes how communism and socialism are threatening the American society. “Who has done more to help the poor recently than anyone? President Trump, whether you like him or not. President Trump created circumstances that helped more people get jobs than any time in the history of America, especially of minorities. I was so excited about that,” he said in an interview in October, “I think 10 million people just in his first three years were removed off the welfare rolls. That’s a successful campaign right there.”

Communism has attracted lots of people like opium; in the mean time, it has caused great damage – taking about 100 millions unnatural deaths that occurred in communist countries in the past century. What happened in Soviet Union, East Europe communist block, as well as the totalitarian CCP, have proven communism is always a failure.
Inside China, over 360 million people have announced to quit the CCP and its junior organizations of the Youth League and Young Pioneer. As more people outside of China began to recognize the nature of communism, it will lead to its ultimate collapse in this world.

It’s Time for the Entire World To Stand Up Against the Chinese Communist Party

Dec. 25, 2020 | By Suizhi

(Minghui.org) The Financial Times in the UK cited the draft paper of an EU plan on November 29, in which the EU calls on the U.S. to forge a new global alliance to meet the “strategic challenges” posed by China (the Chinese Communist Party regime).

It said in the press release titled “A new EU-U.S. agenda for global change”: “As open democratic societies and market economies, the EU and the U.S. agree on the strategic challenge presented by China’s growing international assertiveness.”

It proposes that the EU and the U.S. join forces to, among other things, harness rapid technological change and face the challenges of rival systems of digital governance; develop a common transatlantic approach to protecting critical technologies in light of global economic and security concerns – starting by discussions on 5G; intensify cooperation to facilitate free data flow with trust; and strengthen democracy, uphold international law, support sustainable development, and promote human rights around the world.

The proposal was expected to be endorsement by the European Council and would then be launched at an EU-U.S. Summit in the first half of 2021.
Coincidentally, the “Halifax International Security Forum” headquartered in Canada recently gathered views of more than 250 experts and leaders from across the world, including senior government and military officials, policymakers, opinion leaders, academics, members of the business community from like-minded nations, and released a handbook titled China Vs. Democracy - The Greatest Game.

The handbook highlighted communist China’s threat to democratic countries with detailed evidence in relation to the CCP’s oppression inside China, its race for technology supremacy, influence campaigns against democracies, the military competition that may determine war or peace, and its ambitions for global domination. It claims to be one of the first comprehensive attempts to chart the broad China (CCP) challenge.

In the 21st century clash of great powers, the EU would stand with the U.S. over China, European Council President Charles Michel told the United Nations General Assembly on September 25, 2020.

“We are deeply connected with the United States. We share ideals, values, and a mutual affection that have been strengthened through the trials of history,” he said.

On July 23, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called on the whole world to unite against the CCP, and exposed the CCP’s lie that it represents 1.4 billion people. He promised that the United States would no longer allow the Chinese Communist regime to kidnap the Chinese people; the United States will lead the free world, stand firmly with the Chinese people, and jointly defeat the CCP’s tyrannic dictatorship.

In an interview with Mark Levin of “Life, Liberty & Levin” in Washington, D.C. on September 27, Pompeo talked about the CCP’s aggressive conduct and the U.S. strategies to cease the “appeasement” policy, as well as the establishment of a global coalition to counterattack the CCP’s hegemonic expansion. The EU’s new draft paper will certainly revitalize its alliance with the U.S., echoing Pompeo’s call in taking on the challenges presented by the CCP.

The U.S. is counterattacking the CCP on all fronts. And countries in the international community, both in the east and west, are forming an “alliance of democracy” to resist the CCP threat. The U.S. has Japan, Australia, Britain, Canada, the EU, NATO, and ASEAN member states as its allies, and all of them share the same universal values.

The CCP is not a normal political party or a regime, but a representative of the evil communist specter in the human world. The steps taken by the communist specter to dominate the world aim to destroy the traditional values and ethics in Western countries. The CCP intends to change the international order by taking advantage of the loopholes in democratic societies, using freedom of speech to spread the fallacies of “atheism,” and obscurely extracting nutrients from the free world.

However, after decades of dormancy and submergence, the CCP now finds it more difficult to continue concealing its true colors and its ultimate goal to dominate the world and destroy mankind.

This year, while other countries are busy grappling with the pandemic originated in Wuhan China, the CCP has acted aggressively in respect to Taiwan, Hong Kong, the South China Sea, and on their borders with India, which triggered more alarms to the Western world. The United States, Canada, and the European Union agreed that the CCP represents the main challenge to the values of the democratic world.

At present, democratic countries have largely changed their attitudes towards the CCP. In the past decades, they believed that economic prosperity would bring freedom and democracy to China, but the deadly and devastating COVID-19 has awakened them and helped them realize that the CCP is the most vicious “virus” that endangers the entire world.

Nathalie Tocci, director of the Institute of International Affairs (IAI), an Italian think tank, believes that China’s unfair trade practices, its growing competitiveness in advanced technologies, patterns of Chinese investments in critical sectors across Europe and the United States, Beijing’s record on human rights, its growing military capabilities, and Beijing’s use of disinformation and propaganda to reshape global narratives, which has grown even more aggressive around its early suppression of information about the coronavirus, have all contributed to growing concern about China’s influence.

U.S. National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien emphasized in a speech on September 23 that the Trump administration is building an international consensus aimed at countering increased Chinese aggression in multiple forms. For example, the United States, Germany, France, Sweden, Australia, and other countries have successively withdrawn their cooperation with “Confucius Institutes,” which critics say the CCP uses for covert spying and influence operations to export its ideology; the Australian government has launched a crackdown on covert Chinese influence and infiltration operations and taken a leading role in calling for an independent investigation into the origins of COVID-19, which first emerged in Wuhan, China; and Japan is backing tougher U.S. policies by offering incentives to Japanese companies to relocate manufacturing plants from China to Japan.

Mark Warner, Democratic vice-chair of the U.S. Senate intelligence committee, sees the threat from communist China and believes that the CCP leaders are developing “a model of technological governance,” saying that “Beijing is intending to control the next generation of digital infrastructure, and, as it does so, to impose principles that are antithetical to U.S. values of transparency, diversity of opinion, interoperability, and respect for human rights.”

The promotion of a global alliance to counterattack the CCP has taken specific steps towards success. On August 5, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the framework of a “Clean Network” to ensure a secure 5G network. So far, at least 180 telecommunications companies in 53 countries, which account for two-thirds of the global GDP, including dozens of world giants, have joined the “Clean Network” initiative and will no longer use equipment and technologies provided by Chinese companies such as “Huawei.” The EU has also launched its “EU toolbox for 5G security,” and 27 NATO countries have already joined the “Clean Network” project.

The United States calls on governments and industrial allies around the world to join this growing trend of the “Clean Network,” which would strengthen protection of their citizens’ privacy and their companies most sensitive information from aggressive intrusion by the CCP’s network. At the moment, there are still quite a few countries that are eager to expand their 5G networks, but got stuck in the CCP’s muddy “online version of the Belt and Road” without realizing the danger.

The fight with the CCP is not merely a trade war, a science and technology war, a military war, and an information war, but also a war on faith and ideals. Sam Brownback, the U.S. Ambassador for the International Religious Freedom Alliance, said in a recent interview that the CCP has exported its repressive model abroad, to the detriment of freedom across the globe. But “authoritarianism ultimately can’t defeat faith.” This is a battle they will not win.

The “war on faith” is the crux to this battle between good and evil. In the face of such a huge battle, people must distinguish between good and bad, and one should not hold any degenerated thinking such as “straddling on the fence.” Some nations are holding back due to fear of the CCP, but may be doing so because they are “going with the stream,” or being “muddleheaded,” or even “adding fuel to the flame” or “being blindly tolerant.” All these behaviors are no less than helping a tyrant to do evil and holding a candle to the devil, which have helped the CCP to become an uncontrollable cynic beast.

Facing the current contest between justice and evil, governments and the people in each country must take a stand between good and evil. The banner of justice is already being upheld high in free societies in the international community and we are at a critical moment to gather strength on a global scale. There is no room for compromise or hesitation in the battle between good and evil; it is a matter of life and death, and one’s destiny is hanging on a single thought.

There is in fact no grey area for those countries that are still lingering outside the “Clean Network” program or “straddling on the fence.” They should, in order to strengthen national security, join the global defense system as soon as possible and together with others build a solid fortress against the CCP. This would truly be a wise action to take.

Deep Erosion of Democratic Society by the CCP

Dec. 28, 2020 | By Wen Sirui

(Minghui.org) Of the current human rights violations being committed by the Chinese Communist Party, the persecution of Falun Gong is probably the worst one. There are several reasons behind that.

First, the persecution targets around 100 million Falun Gong practitioners from all walks of life, as well as their family members. Second, the principles of Falun Gong, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, are consistent with traditional Chinese culture and fundamentally contradict the core theories of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), namely, deceit, violence, and hatred. Third, the peaceful nature and determination of Falun Gong practitioners shown over the past 21 years of resisting the harsh persecution has provided hope for other religious groups, as well as ordinary citizens, in this unprecedented, totalitarian country.

Still, some people in the West may think the danger of communism is too distant and have not taken it seriously. In fact, we have seen in the coronavirus pandemic and the U.S. general election that communist ideology has crept into the free world in the past few decades, causing real and imminent threats in many areas.

Below is a detailed analysis.

Loudon: Communism Infiltrates America in Various Forms

Trevor Loudon, former Vice President of the ACT New Zealand Party, has written several books on international politics. Among them, Enemies Within: Communists, Socialists and Progressives in the U.S. Congress has drawn broad attention.

For some readers, the term “progressive” might be more appealing than “liberal,” although many consider it another hat of liberals due to its notoriety. Likewise, despite their similarities, some also think liberals focus on changing society with taxpayers' money while progressives advocate more power for the government to change the social and legal system.

Enemies Within is designed to show American voters exactly how modern communism works and how it impacts your life, every single day. Just how do the communists win big on things like Obamacare and immigration “reform,” which go completely against the wishes of the American people?” writes Loudon in his book.

His research has been cited in many articles, blog posts, and books. Loudon has given countless radio interviews and addressed audiences in more than 30 states in his four tours of the United States.

The 2016 U.S. presidential election was special in recent American history. When Donald Trump appeared to be winning, mainstream media began to launch massive attacks on him. Some people also held protests in many cities and groundlessly labeled Trump a racist and a Nazi. Besides these hateful claims, they demanded vote recounts and threatened to impeach him.

Although these protests were claimed to be “spontaneous,” investigators found they were planned activities. Furthermore, their organizers were closely connected with North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, and other authoritarian regimes, according to the documentary America Under Siege: Civil War 2017 by Loudon. In particular, two of these organizations, the Workers World Party (WWP) and the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (now Liberation Road) are communist groups.

In his research, Loudon found communists viewed America as a primary target for infiltration and subversion. Approaching the country in various forms, communists have controlled American education and media and infiltrated its politics and businesses. As a result, ideology in the U.S. has gradually shifted toward a communist totalitarian regime over the past several decades.

In other words, as the Cold War ended, people assumed the free world had defeated the communist bloc, moving towards democracy, stability, and prosperity. In reality, communists had secretly seized the West in politics, economy, culture, education, and media, ready for a final, deadly strike.

Schweizer: The CCP Is “Decapitate[ing] Our Political Leadership”

The irregularities and frauds related to the 2020 U.S. presidential election highlighted deep fissures of erosion in American society. In the past few weeks, hundreds of affidavits confirmed problems with one-sided spikes on the night of November 3, mail-in ballots, blocking poll watchers, and issues with Dominion voting system.

To some degree, this is similar to the persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP in China. Inside China, the CCP does not tolerate different opinions and has successfully suppressed any groups in a short time during past political campaigns. By targeting Falun Gong, a meditation group that represents China’s five-thousand-year-old culture with no political agenda, the CCP exposed itself for what it is: brutal, hateful, and deceitful. As more people awaken from the Party’s massive hate propaganda, the CCP will face its own destruction.

Similarly, after decades-long infiltration in the American society by communism, Trump appeared, vowing to “drain the swamp” and restore faith. Knowing such efforts would effectively stop the socialist and communist agenda, U.S. media, government officials, and large corporations joined together to defame him in attempts to remove him from the office. As this unfolded, many people in the free world have recognized this serious challenge.

This includes Peter Schweizer, author of Secret Empires: How the American Political Class Hides Corruption and Enriches Family and Friends. In an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo in “Sunday Morning Futures” on December 20, he said that both the Democratic candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter had benefited from business with China.

Evidence showed that Chinese companies insisted that “they were not doing deals with Hunter Biden and they were doing deals with the Biden family.” This indicated the role of Joe Biden, former Vice President and current presidential candidate. Furthermore, Hunter complained that he had to pay half of the Biden’s family bill, meaning Joe Biden is a “direct beneficiary of the foreign deal.” Not only that, Hunter’s business partners also include Chinese companies that have close relationships with the Chinese army.

Besides the Biden family, many other officials also have close ties with China. “There are a lot of powerful people in DC who want the Hunter Biden story to go away because it has potentially direct implications on themselves,” Schweizer said, citing Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, and Dianne Feinstein's family business deals in China. “All you have to do is look at the very top of the legislative body in the United States.”

For example, leader of the Senate Mitch McConnell and his wife, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao. “Elaine Chao’s family owns a shipping business. Unlike the Biden’s, it is actually a legitimate business. But the fact of the matter is that its ship purchases are financed by the Chinese government, its ships are constructed by the Chinese government, its crews are raised by the Chinese government, and most of its contracts are shipping goods from Chinese state-owned enterprises,” Schweizer continued. “So if Mitch McConnell did something the Chinese didn't like, they could destroy that family business.”

The list continues. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi, for example, “has done a series of deals in mainland China... and are part of the fact that the Chinese are trying to curry favor with high-ranking politicians in the United States.”

Dianne Feinstein’s husband “has been doing deals for 25 years in mainland China,” Schweizer added. “And has benefited from private meetings that Senator Feinstein had with the highest levels.”

In summary, Schweizer said that the Chinese government is seeking to “decapitate our political leadership by giving sweetheart deals to the family members of our political class... The question is, are we going to do something about it or let it pass?”

“I commit to my audience right here right now that we will not let out the spotlight on this behavior,” Bartiromo replied, “And we will not let the Chinese Communist Party take over America.”

Flathead Beacon Reader’s Letter: “Severing Ties with the Chinese Communist Party”

Dec. 29, 2020 | By Minghui correspondent Wang Ying

(Minghui.org) Montana newspaper Flathead Beacon published a letter to the editor by Katherine Combes on December 27, 2020, titled “Severing Ties with the Chinese Communist Party.”

In her letter, Combes said that the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) lies and disinformation continued to worsen during the coronavirus pandemic, which caught the world off guard and threatened everyone on the planet.

She said that although many now know how the CCP suppressed people “who tried to warn the world of its severity,” the domestic suppression of people inside China may be less publicized.

“The brutality that China enforces on people who try to tell the truth and make their leaders accountable is also suppressed. People practicing their faith in China, including Christians, Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, and Tibetans, are also suppressed through brainwashing, torture, and killing of innocent people, including the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting for profit,” she said.

But the suppression of religious freedom isn’t the CCP’s only problem. It also steals intellectual property and manufacturing jobs from the U.S. through “lying, deceit, and spying.”

“Communism is being infiltrated in so many aspects of our culture without our realizing it, and Americans are quickly losing their independence,” she wrote. “It is time we awaken and distance ourselves from the CCP and stand up for human rights and truth.”
She continued by stating that while the current U.S. election looks like conflicts between “right/left, liberal/conservative and Republican/Democrat,” it’s in fact a choice between “communist values versus American values.”

“We have long enjoyed our freedoms, while the CCP has strategically indoctrinated the doctrines of communism into our lives. One does not have to dig very deep to find evidence of this,” she said.

She concluded that “The coronavirus has brought to light the horrid nature of the CCP. However, the true virus is actually the CCP. They are evil and we need to hold them accountable for their crimes against humanity.”

WeChat and TikTok Help the CCP Spread Its Thought Control Overseas

Dec. 30, 2020 | By Li Ming

(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is no longer satisfied with just controlling the thoughts of people inside China. It has aggressively extended its tentacles to media overseas. WeChat, the most popular Chinese-language social media app, and TikTok, have played right along with it.
Alarmingly, the CCP was quite successful in controlling the overseas media, according to a Sydney Morning Herald report “How WeChat is helping the CCP control Australian media outlets” on December 17, 2020.

The report, based on the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI)’s study of 24 Australian media companies, found that “(a)t least four Chinese-language media companies operating in Australia have financial links to the Chinese Communist Party and at least 17 are connected to Beijing's overseas influence arm.”

ASPI revealed, “representatives of the Chinese-language media arms of the Australia Broadcasting Corporation and Special Broadcasting Service have attended media forums held by China's overseas propaganda arm, the United Front Work Department (UFWD).”

“Senior government sources conceded more work needs to be done to counter the influence of the CCP and the UFWD over Chinese-language media in Australia.”

The report explained how WeChat is helping the CCP to control foreign media.

Media companies need to register WeChat accounts for their company to post articles on the WeChat app. WeChat offers two options: register through the international version of WeChat or through the version used in China. By limiting international account to just four posts a month, WeChat “encourages” foreign companies to register their accounts in China, which the CCP has full censorship over.

WeChat “may be driving the most substantial and harmful changes ever observed in Australia's Chinese-language media sector,” said ASPI.
It has long been held that the media is the fourth estate of the government and an “uncrowned king.” It is supposed to be the platform to reflect public opinion, with the responsibility and vocation to deliver the truth to the world.

Most countries honor freedom of speech. However, to secure its power, the CCP has consistently suppressed people’s thoughts and stifled freedom of speech. And it has extended its control over overseas media for many years.

Unfortunately, many people, including governments, have not realized the full danger behind this trend.

The Politburo of the CCP Central Committee held a meeting on overseas propaganda in mid-January 2009. It concluded that the infiltration and manipulation of overseas Chinese-language media had been effective. It decided to spend huge amounts of money and manpower to infiltrate Western mainstream media from that year onward, to support its “big overseas propaganda” campaign. Subsequently, many U.S. and European media began to “self-censor,” often hiding the truth and not publishing reports exposing the various vices of the CCP.

Beijing also issued the “Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Deep Media Integration” in September 2020. The opinion emphasized, “strengthen the connection between the media and the audience, and construct channels that the masses cannot live without.” The CCP has integrated traditional media such as the Internet, radio, and television with new media including WeChat and TikTok, and disseminated a large amount of official brainwashing propaganda on the “fusion media.”

TikTok, with 400 million active users daily, is recognized as spyware and a CCP tool. For example, the CCP has started a major propaganda campaign to cover up the fact that COVID-19 virus started in Wuhan in late 2019. It disseminated a large number of short videos by official media on TikTok, either falsely claiming that “U.S. soldiers brought the virus to Wuhan” or producing seemingly “objective and rigorous” analysis to feed the public exaggerated and false misinformation.

The Washington Post, in its article “TikTok’s Beijing roots fuel censorship suspicion as it builds a huge U.S. audience” on September 15, 2020, stated that TikTok “could prove to be one of China’s most effective weapons in the global information war, bringing Chinese-style censorship to mainstream U.S. audiences and shaping how they understand real-world events.”

Japan, New Zealand and other countries proposed to ban TikTok; the United States requested the Chinese company to sell its U.S. business to a U.S. company; and India announced a stop to using hundreds of mobile apps made in China, including TikTok.

WeChat, with one billion active Chinese users, is an even more dangerous weapon that the CCP uses to control public opinion. China’s Ministry of Public Security took over WeChat's back-end servers for stronger control in 2014. It also blocked all other international social media, forcing overseas Chinese to communicate with their relatives in China through WeChat.

Every government should be vigilant about the CCP’s attempt to control their media. People around the world, especially the Chinese diaspora, should understand the danger of the CCP’s propaganda tools and should seek the truth via other media channels.

Only then, will people still retain their freedom of speech and freedom of the press, and maintain their conscience.

Trump Should Declassify How the Chinese Communist Party Interfered in Our Election

Joel Etienne
Joel Etienne

December 31, 2020 Updated: December 31, 2020

Politicians tackle debts and deficits, politicians deal with planning and zoning, politicians struggle with their civil service.

Statesmen, or stateswomen, however, are the politicians who take hold, grasp and define the seminal moments of our times. They map out the course of history through surgical words and key actions. These words and actions stand to drive the statesman/stateswoman to glory and with luck and historical hindsight, will even earn the begrudging respect of political foes and ideological opponents.

Lincoln gifted the world with the Gettysburg address, 272 words that were backed with surgical action—blood and treasure spilled to forge a nation together and free the slaves. Roosevelt spoke of and gave America a “New Deal” that has lasted over three quarters of a century, while Eisenhower cautioned an innocent nation to beware “the Military-Industrial Complex.” President Reagan, the truest and last important voice of the modern presidency in the 20th century, tore down the Soviet Empire without shooting one bullet in active combat, and told Mr. Gorbachev, before any New York Times pundit ever foresaw the end of the Soviet Empire to: “Tear down these walls.” Wunderbar—still music to my ears!

The symbiotic convergence between “East and West,” caused through technological and financial integration has reached an inflection point of no return. East and West are converging and creating one culture, one world—whether we like it or not, it could be argued with some legitimacy that the combination has now become unstoppable.

The defining issue of our era: which of the two dominant ideologies will prevail in this, our latest bout with Neo Fascist-Communism?
Will the Western ideal bring about a new Confucianism, a merged ideal that includes Eastern thoughts of forbearance and detachment, coupled with Western values of capitalism, multi-ethnic democracy, and human rights; or, are we heading towards a “1984”, “Fahrenheit 451” world of neo-fascist communism anchored by technological and economic control and fueled by the tyrannic methods developed through the -isms brought on by Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and then later re-weaponized by the Chinese regime and Putin. The stakes could not be any higher for any aspirant of freedom and democracy.

President Trump’s appointment and continued support of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo followed his better instincts and wisdom as they relate to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Unfortunately, CCP enthusiasts within his own administration and White House slowed him down in January 2020, on the grounds that the United States needed a new trade deal with China, a delay that lost America the opportunity to follow best practices and survive the

Covid-19 Pandemic in the same manner as Taiwan, New Zealand and Australia have so far accomplished.

Beijing has learned from President Putin’s playbook. Using KGB-like tactics, the fascists appreciate that they cannot match American might through a direct toe-to-toe confrontation, so they now aim to corrupt the North American continent from the inside out. When the West used both its culture and its intelligence infrastructure to disrupt Communism, we offered the Eastern Bloc democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and capitalism.

While many former Eastern Bloc countries have flourished under this new direction, and we say many, because unfortunately Putin and Beijing have stopped their respective homelands and many satellite nations from progressing and advancing towards the human ideal of freedom and democracy.

Worse, our communist and fascist torturers have now pivoted “the game” to give the West a taste of the same tactics that they have force fed on dissidents and human rights advocates who are continuously sidelined in the streets of Beijing and Moscow—the tactics are well known—disruption, violence, infiltration, repression and lies through the mediums of force, state controlled media, technology, and corruption. With these same tactics and means of planning and deliberation, Beijing and Putin aim to further murder our democracies from the inside—and sadly enough, they might pull it off.

CCP Infiltration

This is where our President has the opportunity to act quickly and decisively to work towards bringing an end to the destructive influences of the CCP’s corrosive political corruption methods.

The facts and infiltration are undisputable. On Dec. 5, 2020, China Expert, Gordon Chang, author of “The Coming Collapse of China, publicly exposed the varied methods used by the Chinese Communist Party to corrupt the 2020 Presidential election.

Mr. Chang confirmed that during the general election, the CCP tried to unseat President Trump. He advanced that there “was a massive disinformation campaign conducted, especially by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, which is official—and the Global Times, which is the Communist Party tabloid”, confirmed it, he added.

Mr. Chang has explained that “there were the troll and bot farm operations, which were actually quite massive. There was the Spamouflage Dragon network, which attacked the president on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube. And we know that Twitter took down 174,000 fake Chinese accounts in June alone. So they really went after the Republican candidate.”

Frighteningly, Mr. Chang also confirmed that “the Chinese military—the People’s Liberation Army—actually based an intelligence unit in the, then, open Houston consulate. From there, they used artificial intelligence and big data to identify Americans likely to participate in Antifa protests. And then they sent them videos through Tik-Tok on how to riot.”

It is not only Academic Experts on the Chinese Communist Party that have opined on CCP interference. In fact, prior to the election, then Attorney General William Barr confirmed that the CCP was directly involved in corrupting the Presidential Election.

Indeed, in a Sept. 2, 2020 interview on CNN, AG Barr was asked about election security and who was the most assertive or aggressive nation in this regard. “I believe it’s China,” Barr said. “China more than Russia right now.”Asked why he made that assessment, Barr said he had “seen the intelligence” clearly suggesting that the CCP was a greater threat than Russia. “That’s what I concluded,” he said, adding that he couldn’t elaborate more on what is classified information.

Therein lies the key—classified information.

Now that the CCP has infiltrated the core of American Democracy, it is no longer sufficient or acceptable that only a small cadre of American intelligence and military defense officials, running around scared in D.C., be the only good folks apprised of the CCP’s real and apprehended threat towards our way of life. Too many Americans are now dead because of Communist Party negligence.

There can and should be a method of rapidly de-classifying enough of the raw intel to prepare and educate American Society in respect to the CCP’s existential threat while at the same time, protect American sources and intelligence gathering methodologies. With all due respect, Representatives and Senators who sit on the intelligence committees no longer hold enough credibility and respect, notwithstanding any political party affiliation, with their own voters, to be the filters and disseminators of information to their constituents. That train left the station a long time ago.

In fact, in the middle of the Russia investigation, in May 2019, when so much disinformation against the president was being aired across the continent, President Trump actually gave then Attorney General Barr sweeping powers to declassify intelligence in the Russia probe review. The chattering classes were obviously upset that true facts about the “so called collusion” would see the light of day with the American public and sought to dispel the presidential authority to “classify and declassify” information. Interestingly enough, the “executive’s” power in this regard appears to be sacrosanct, notwithstanding the false protests of the mainstream media.

Experts agree that the president, as commander-in-chief, is ultimately responsible for classification and declassification. When a person lower in the chain of command handles classification and declassification duties—which is the established methodology—it is essentially because they have been delegated to do so by the president directly, or by an appointee chosen by the president. The majority ruling in the 1988 American Supreme Court matter Navy v. Egan addressed this line of authority.

Clearly, the President can declassify.
Handing over that authority to an acting AG, seeking, that “We, the People”, finally all get to hear and learn the full truth about the CCP’s conduct in our 2020 elections within the next 20 days—pursuant and subject to a careful review that has assumed the proper protocols to protect intelligence gathering assets and tools is critical, if not existential. It seems to be the least that we should all expect in words and deeds from a true statesman.

The coming words and actions on this issue would very well stand the test of time—just as the words and actions of Lincoln, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, and Reagan cemented the future and continued standing of the American experience.

Lessons in History: How a China Scholar Misread the Chinese Communist Party Twice

Jan. 2, 2021 | By Qin Chuan

(Minghui.org) “The Farmer and the Snake” is one of Aesop’s well-known fables. One winter, a farmer took pity on a frozen snake and revived it. Regaining its strength, the snake bit the man, who said just before he died, “Learn from my fate not to take pity on a scoundrel.”
The fable is easy for even a child to understand. But in today’s complex society, telling good from bad may not be so simple. The late John K. Fairbank, a renowned China scholar from Harvard, learned the true colors of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) the hard way.

Two Instances of Support and Two Regrets

Even when he visited China in May 1972 at the height of the Cultural Revolution that claimed the life of his best friend Liang Sicheng, Fairbank still did not give up hope for the regime. U.S. President Richard Nixon’s visit to China was a sign that communism was “doing better,” unlike things that occurred in the 1950s, he wrote to a friend in the following year.

It was not until Jean Pasqualini published Prisoner of Mao, in which he described his seven blood-and-terror-filled years in prison in China that Fairbank changed his attitude. “Over the years, Mao's police have perfected their interrogation methods to such a fine point that I would defy any man, Chinese or not, to hold out against them,” Pasqualini wrote in his book. “Their aim is not so much to make you invent nonexistent crimes, but to make you accept your ordinary life, as you led it, as rotten and sinful and worthy of punishment.”

After Fairbank wrote a review for the book in November 1973, however, the CCP viewed that as hostile and refused to issue him a visa when he planned to visit China again. Still, Fairbank praised Mao Zedong in May 1975, referring to him, as always, as the greatest liberator. What he did not know was that Mao had caused the deaths of tens of millions in the Great Leap Forward and other political movements.

When China and the U.S. established formal diplomatic relations and a smiling Deng Xiaoping visited the U.S. in 1979, Fairbank reverted to his earlier attitude, beginning to praise China for its democratic trend.

It was the Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989 that finally awakened Fairbank and other China scholars like him. Several days before he died in 1991, he was able to finish China: A New History in which he corrected his erroneous opinions about the CCP. “Without the devastating Japanese invasion, the Nanjing government might gradually have led the way in China’s modernization,” he wrote in the book. “As it turned out, however, resisting Japan gave
Mao and the CCP their chance to establish a new autocratic power in the countryside, excluding the elements of a nascent urban civil society that were still developing under the Nationalists.”

He also mentioned the brutal suppression of the democratic movement on Tiananmen Square at least 10 times. “...the violent military crackdown on demonstrators in Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989, in which it is estimated that anywhere from 800 to 1,300 people lost their lives and 10,000 to 30,000 participants were imprisoned,” he wrote.

He also pointed to the tragedies of the political movements such as the Great Leap Forward. “...the Great Leap Forward and its aftermath, in which more than 30 million peasants died from famine and malnutrition, and the Cultural Revolution, in which half a million people were killed or committed suicide and an estimated 100 million were persecuted,” he wrote.

He emphasized, “Chairman Mao Zedong killed millions and millions of Chinese while calling it a class struggle for revolution.”

Still, given his influence as an educator, scholar, and government advisor, Fairbank played a critical role in shaping U.S. strategy in favor of the CCP, both during the civil war in the 1940s and in connecting the countries in the 1970s. In his book, United States and China, he praised Mao above other leaders in history, from Caesar and Napoleon to Lenin. This book, written in 1948 and revised in 1958, 1971, and 1983, was one of the few books Nixon considered authoritative before he visited China in February 1972.

So how did Fairbank get the CCP wrong twice?

Judging a Book by Its Cover

John Fairbank, whose Chinese name is Fei Zhengqing

Fairbank was born in 1907. After graduating from Harvard in 1929, he went to Oxford to study the Chinese language and history. After arriving in Beijing in 1932, he studied at Tsinghua University, where he met Liang Sicheng and his wife Lin Huiyin, two founders of modern Chinese architecture. Back at Oxford, Fairbank focused on the history of the Qing Dynasty, and Liang’s father was considered a distinguished reformer of the Qing Government.

Fairbank returned to Harvard in 1936 to teach Chinese history. He was later recruited to work for the U.S. government, which dispatched him to China in September 1942 for 15 months. His next assignment took him back to China in October 1945 for nine months. Visiting the CCP-held territory of Zhang Jiakou in June 1946, he was presented with CCP propaganda, such as “...we declared that, first, China needs peace and, second, China needs democracy,” as Mao wrote in October 1945.

With sincere respect for Chinese history and culture, Fairbank accepted the CCP at face value, with no way of that knowing the CCP would toss out these flowery remarks after seizing power several years later. Presented with only one side of the story, he did not know how the CCP regime had ruthlessly destroyed countless landlords—financially, physically, and mentally—in the name of “class struggle.” As a result, he encouraged the U.S. to work with Mao instead of Chiang Kai-shek and introduced the CCP to the United Nations.

Although the Korean war taught Fairbank the harm of communism and the political movement against intellectuals showed him the regime’s cruelty, he still had hope for the CCP. “Our reaction to Chinese Communism is naturally surcharged with resentment,” he wrote in The Atlantic in April 1957, “Our present posture toward China is righteous, isolated, and negative.”

Considered a China expert, Fairbank not only taught students and established the Center for East Asian Research in 1955 (later renamed The Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies), he also served as an advisor for the U.S. Embassy in China and U.S. government agencies. Because of his pro-communist opinions, he was denied a visa to visit Japan and was called to testify before the McCarran Committee. Nonetheless, his fame and status at Harvard protected him, enabling him to write articles in favor of the CCP.

Similar to Fairbank, what Nixon saw when he visited China in 1972 was also staged, “including the propaganda machine, the security apparatus and efforts to mobilise the masses,” reported the BBC in a June 2018 article titled, “‘The week that changed the world’: How China prepared for Nixon.” For example, children were taught how to answer questions such as “Do you have enough to eat and wear?” and “Do you like America?” correctly.

“Truckloads of supplies were ferried to shops to fill the shelves, with a wider variety of goods on offer than usual,” the article continued, adding that even “tourists” on the Great Wall were “10 politically reliable people” previously picked with training on how to respond, according to a witness. “Much of the interaction between the Nixon party and “normal” Chinese people also appeared to be staged by Beijing,” concluded the BBC report.

Friends’ Tragedies and Final Clarity

Aside from Pasqualini’s Prisoner of Mao, there could have been other factors, such as the tragedies of his friends, that led to Fairbank to rethink the CCP in 1973.

As mentioned above, Fairbank met the Liang couple at Tsinghua University in 1932 and befriended them. His Chinese name, Fei Zhengqing, was actually given to him by the Liang couple. Liang and his wife had both studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where Liang earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in architecture, and his wife a bachelor’s degree in art. After the couple returned to China in 1928, although Lin was already ill, they managed to evaluate over 2,000 ancient structures in more than 200 counties in China within several years, making a significant contribution to the study of ancient Chinese structures. When the Allies planned heavy bombing of Japan in World War II, Liang successfully convinced America to spare the Japanese cities of Kyoto and Nara. He was hailed a hero in protecting ancient structures during the war.

In December 1948, Chiang Kai-shek sent planes to Beijing to bring renowned scholars to Taiwan. Both Liang and his wife were on the list, but they refused to leave due to their confidence in the CCP. It was too late when they learned that Mao had decided to demolish the majority of ancient structures in Beijing in 1953, claiming they were symbols of feudalism. The couple was grief-stricken when the buildings were destroyed one by one. Lin died two years later. Liang, on the other hand, was tortured and humiliated countless times before he finally passed away in January 1972.

Liang was not alone, as Fairbank’s other Chinese friends who stayed in mainland China also had similar experiences. Sociologist Fei Xiaotong was attacked between 1957 and 1980, Legal expert Ch'ien Tuan-sheng earned his Ph.D. at Harvard in 1924 and was attacked after 1957,

It remains unclear whether Fairbank knew all this back then. Nonetheless, his awakening in 1973 did not last long and he became a CCP supporter after Deng Xiaoping visited the U.S. in 1979.

Starbucks Delusion

After Fairbank passed away in 1991, the CCP's influence in the U.S. continued. On the recommendations of politicians, U.S. administrations have, in general, taken an appeasement approach towards China in the past four decades.

There was a belief among American scholars in the 1980s that, as China opened up more and adopted more of the American lifestyle, such as eating fast food like McDonald’s, the Chinese would think more like Americans and political reform would transform China. Even the Tiananmen Square Massacre did little to squelch that belief.

“The Communist Party signed its own death warrant that night,” wrote Nicholas Kristof, a New York Times columnist and self-described progressive, adding that the freedom to order Starbucks would be an indicator of democracy. “So Communism is fading, in part because of Western engagement with China – trade, investment, Avon ladies, M.B.A.'s, Michael Jordan and Vogue magazines have triumphed over Marx,” he wrote in a June 2004 New York Times article titled “The Tiananmen Victory” to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the event.

If scholars’ mistakes in the 1940s helped the CCP to take over China, their failure to learn the lesson in “The Farmer and the Snake” helped the CCP to become a global power and advance communist ideology globally as we see now.

Before Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji visited the U.S. in 1999 to discuss China’s entry into the WTO, Richard Bernstein and Ross Munro published The Coming Conflict with China in 1998. These two former Beijing bureau chiefs with long experience in Asian affairs warned America of China’s continuing portrayal of America as the enemy, China’s increasing military strength, and its concerted efforts to hijack technology. The authors also analyzed Beijing’s “rigorous attempts - often through American corporations profiting in China - to influence U.S. policy” as well as espionage.

“We are brought face-to-face with the startling implications of the trade imbalance between the United States and China (our deficit is $40 billion and growing). We learn of the struggles within the Chinese leadership and how assertive Chinese nationalism augurs a turbulent period ahead,” wrote the authors, “This book is an informed and illuminating examination of a high-stakes clash of competing ideologies and economic interests.”

But Ezra Vogel, then Director of the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, dismissed these concerns and defended the CCP. During a hearing in the Committee on Foreign Relations in the U.S. Senate on April 11, 2000, Vogel and 11 other scholars were strongly in favor of granting the CCP Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) and WTO.

“China's workers need higher labor standards, but opposing Permanent Normal Trade Relations for China is not going to help... Whoever may benefit from a sanctions approach to trade with China, it will certainly not be Chinese workers or their children,” wrote the open letter.

Twenty years have passed and the Chinese people are still suffering under the communist regime. The only difference is that the CCP is stronger and more powerful worldwide, suppressing opinions globally and threatening the free world.

Learning from Lessons

Yu Ying-shih, a renowned Chinese-born American historian, said that many scholars outside of China who study the CCP had some level of idealistic bias instead of looking at solid facts.

The lessons mentioned in this article are not limited to Fairbank alone, as many other scholars have also been deceived by the CCP’s propaganda. Over the past few decades, the CCP has changed its narrative from time to time to serve its own growth, expansion, dominance, and control. Similar things also happened with the Soviet Union Communist Party (SUCP).

Fortunately, some scholars were able to see through the CCP’s tactics. One example is Roderick MacFarquhar, author of The Origins of the Cultural Revolution. In a book review he wrote for Mao’s Great Famine, he explained the scale of the Great Chinese Famine (1959-1961): demographer Judith Banister estimated a death toll of over 30 million with solid academic analysis, while senior journalist Yang Jisheng suggested 36 million.

“Perhaps the crucial source is the finding of a team of two hundred officials sent out by Premier Zhao Ziyang at the beginning of the reform era in the 1980s to assess the human impact of the famine... The report was never published, but according to a senior member of the team, Chen Yizi, in exile in the US since the Tiananmen events, the conclusion was that the number of excess deaths ranged from 43 to 46 million,” he wrote.

There have been other scholars who really understand the CCP. Michael Pillsbury, Director of the Center on Chinese Strategy at the Hudson Institute, is such an example. In his book The Hundred-Year Marathon: China’s Secret Strategy to Replace America as the Global Superpower, he referred to a CCP plan to replace the U.S. as world leader 100 years after its establishment in 1949. The book was written based on declassified files and other resources available.

Michael Pillsbury (whose Chinese name is Bai Ruibang) and his book The Hundred-Year Marathon: China’s Secret Strategy to Replace America as the Global Superpower

The book mentioned two defectors, “Mr. White” and “Ms. Green,” who came to the U.S. in the early 1990s. Mr. White said “the power of the hawks, and their sweeping effort to crush pro-American sentiment in the country” had gained support from Deng Xiaoping. Ms. Green said Deng and his successor Jiang Zemin wanted to cooperate with the U.S. Unfortunately, U.S. officials chose to believe in Ms. Green.

Mr. White also said, “a strategy was devised to build a winning pro-China coalition inside the American government.” But U.S. officials still did not listen. Later Ms. Green was proven to be a double agent and many incidents by then had confirmed Mr. White’s prediction. But it was too late. Helping the Chinese economy and its entry into the WTO did not improve democracy in China. Instead, it made the CCP’s economy and media more powerful.

Ms. Green described “a secret unit at the top of the Chinese leadership that controlled the media carefully to ensure that only the ‘right’ messages got out about China. The key, she said, was to shape messages to foreign nations, and especially the United States, by first disseminating them in domestic channels.”

“She revealed that the operation had a $12 billion annual budget and was run by the Politburo’s Standing Committee,” Pillsbury wrote in the book. “The other component of this operation was a secret unit... called the United Front Work Department and has its own intelligence collection and analysis capability.”

One example is how the CCP influenced a U.S. congressional vote in 2000 on trade normalization between China and the United States as well as China’s full membership within the WTO. “The strategy of the program in this instance was to suppress information both inside China and overseas about China’s absolute opposition to relinquishing its socialist economy, and to imply instead that China’s moderate reformers wanted to move to a free market and were likely to succeed in doing so. This line would be needed to win over a generally skeptical U.S. Congress.”
