Yeah, yeah ..."Save on Labour".

$7.00 an hour is a living wage, in this country if you work 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

No the owner of the company, Save-On-Food purchased Price Mart to ditch the Unions and was unable too.

$7 a living wage?? Sorry I won't work for less that $28/hr. and can't fathom how people could live on $7/hr.

Currently my average Gross Income is $104.78/hr. Net is about $60. ;)

Just curious, but what %'age or $/loaded mile is the fuel sub?

Is the above $/loaded mile or $/running mile?

Fuel sub is $0.44 cents a gallon.

$1.25 loaded mile.

Eh??

Average speed 62mph X $1.69 per mile.. = $104.78/hr.

(minus fuel, wear & tear, insurance, food & incidentals) = aprox $60/hr
Add on loading and unloading time , waiting time , and travelling between loads . As well as down time for mechanical reasons . That 60 starts to look a lot more like 25 .

Add on loading and unloading time

You get loading time and unloading time paid at $45/hr. (generally after 1hr or 2hr wait)

Waiting time, one has to sleep on the road.. ;)

As well as down time for mechanical reasons.

WTF, you think the truck is in the shop more than it's on the road.. wear and tear was factored in..

In 2012 I ran daily from Calgary to Edmonton and back..

My buddy and I always saw Hi-Way9 Trucking and Hi-Way13 Trucking and always wondered where was Highway #2 trucking was.. after all it's the main route from North to South in Alberta..

So I paid $25 for a NUANS report and checked out the name and when I saw it was available, so I Incorporated the company.

So with a few road tractors and a few 24" vans with Lift Tailgates running around the town, as assure you $60/hr is a very, very conservative end wage that I'm claiming. ;)

My goal is to buy some trailers, that where the money is.. you can always hire a driver or O/O to pull the load.. they are a dime a dozen. It's the cargo space that sells.

My dad was a WWII flying boat pilot and he used to love the SeaBee, which is an ancestor of that.

"Trailer for sale or rent, rooms to let, fifty cents.
No phone, no pool, no pets, I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but, two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means, king of the road."
