Not true. many of us believe canada is a better place and admire the canadian way of life. Please don't tar all immigrants with the same brush. it's probably not even the majority, but it's the only segment you'll hear about on the news because there are people who are trying to light a fire under your arse.

Your bang on Herm. In facts it's barely a blip in the minority. I don't think anyone on this board knows one immigrant personally that wants to change Canada in any way. The reason they are here is because it's one of the best nations on Earth. The odd peculiar news story becomes the norm in the eyes of some. Some guy wants to wear a turbin in a legion. Suddenly the country is coming to an end.

You're absolutely correct, I would add, the mouthy and loud malcontents that preach the woes of our ways. They are oft the minute minority and the fringe of even their own group, yet they get the air time, because lets face it, stupid sells.

And any comments about that immigrant girl in Quebec who wouldn't take her hatty thing off for a soccer game, and it was for safety reasons?

seems to me the legislation is redundant, in that it states something along the lines of "canada will treat all it's inhabitants with respect, irrelavent of their origin"
