The story is not a big story here. I never saw it anywhere on the news and only knew about it when I saw it here. It's just not a big deal news story. The big story at the moment here is the missing three-year-old boy in Edinburgh. To say this story is "causing a furore" in Britain is a bit wide of the mark.

Ah, that explains it. No way is Blackloaf going to read a left-wing rag like the Torygraph.

I don't read the Telegraph. It's not quite right wing enough for my liking. I prefer the Daily Mail. The Sun and The Spectator are also good.

Such a shame the Volkischer Beobachter went out of business.

UK detention centre slammed after 84-year-old Canadian dies in handcuffs
A spokesman for GEO said detainees were handcuffed only when there was "a documented risk of absconding," and that use of restraints was balanced against other factors, including age.
So an 84 yr old dude with Alzheimer's, diabetes, etc.is a risk of hoofing it away from armed guards probably a third his age? interesting.

He shouldn't have been in a detention centre in that condition.
Right.

Of course, in this country we taser our elderly dementia patients.
It fits. A lot of our heritage is from the Brits.

Christianity isn't a cult. Islam is.
From Oxford's dictionary - "a system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object"

I don't read foreign media. Only British ones.

And I thought it was the education system that failed you.
