Indeed.

Completely agree. I think it's certainly the case in the UK of that.

Why else would the Federal Government bailout a regional team? Right?

It keeps the otherwise dissinterested, interested in something other then the facts. The masses that fill the cheap seats and their idle time with sports stats and player bios, could easily be swayed to another agenda, say the truth about the status quo, or wars or even BS, as was the case in Germany. Masses of up set people with the truth or BS as a weapon is how Governments are over trown.

Trust me,

there's no cheap seats in British football anymore, even the multi-millionaire players agree that the "normal" man on the street cannot now afford to go to the games and that the stadiums are full of the "prawn sandwich brigade".

It's a paradox I tell you.

I actually think this only adds to the problem, these poor working class people (who, invariably are the one's who usually get drunk nd cause the hooliganism) can rarely afford to go to the games, therefore, making the games they do go to, more problematic.

Indeed, but these rich owners know that governments are generally either intensly stupid, ignorant or simply lazy. At least at sports games in Canada or the states, the seating at stadiums is fit for purpose.

The seats I got at the Sky Dome or the Garden were much cheaper than I'd ever pay for football in the UK, my seats were by no means the best, I had a nice comfertable chair both times with arm rests...for half the price, and may I say, much cleaner and efficiant services as well.

The only gripe I had was that when you are used to football games, they do seem a little bit passionless.
