RE: U.S. Senate backs oil

I heard it wont even lower american gas prices really at all 9/10 of a cent I heard on radio. Is it worth it no. Finding alternate fuels and preserving environment is what has to be done.

"W" don't care how many treaties he breaks, just as long as his oil buddies make a profit.

America doesn't respect the environment at all. Americans deserve Bush, but the rest of the world doesn't. Instead of looking for alternative sources of energy, they're going to destroy the planet. Bush deserves a bullet in the head.

i hate these generalizations of people in america. really everyone i have met is just like a canadian except well generaly more concervatie. I think the fact that we have different politcal views does not mean we should hate each other.

The people who voted for Bush deserve him. But why does the environment have to be destroyed because of this idiot? The Americans who voted for him knew he doesn't think about enviornment, health care, social funding. He wanted a war for oil and lied to have his war, and he's going to drill into a wildlife habitat for oil despite the environmental cost. It's hard to like Americans now. This isn't about a different political point of view. This is about being good citizens of the planet and the U.S. is not.

don't think that any "generalizations' are pleasant.....even if favorable. .........but unfortunately the REALITY of the current situation breeds just that. You sure don't hear many americans complaining about environmental destruction.....do you?? It is usually a lone voice in the wilderness that still cares.

it is a societal /us cultural thing ........based on an immediate gratification oriented society .......an "I WANT NOW " society...... A society where there is no bridge between the very poor and the obscenely rich. A society /culture who's basis is purely materialism.....

so yes........generalizations will occurr and when the leader is as ascinine as the one they voted in not only ONCE.....but TWICE.......one is hard pressed to have ANY fecking sympathy /for them. Furthermore: "they " couldn't care less anyhow....dimwitted as "they" can be.

ever wonder why the rest of the world looks on the "americans" as stupid???

Hey, don't think that we occupy any moral high ground Gonzo. If the Americans are destroying the planet, we're right behind them helping out. Canada has an atrocious record on the environment - we are no better than the US. While it might make you feel good, signing an international treaty isn't the same as actually doing something about climate change.
