So what are we going to do with the 1/3 that cant afford this added cost to living? Like famillies with only one working parent. Let them sink deeper into financial despair?

I care a great deal.

That's why we should implement it so that they are better off.

Replace high income taxes with moderate wealth taxes, eliminate lot-size and minimum-parking restrictions in municipal building codes, shift from highway construction to more walking and cycling paths, allow for higher-density development, adopt stricter advertising rules for addictive products and services both online and off. There are plenty of ways to help the poor while still using our resources efficiently. Any proud White man can understand that. I'm surprised Flossie does.

I care a great deal.

You never cease to surprise me. That's what a proud White man like me would say.

That made no sense, just like your other posts.

I know. Its you're white previlages that have blinded you too the fact, Many people in canada cant afford a rise in cost.

The fact is. Many dogs in canada have better living standars then canadian kids.

Better off how?

In BC consumption of hydrocarbons and products that are hydrocarbon intense have never been higher.

Where is the benefit of a carbon tax?

You seem to look at it as zero sum. Raising the gas tax does not mean we can't lower other taxes or deregulate in other ways.

In fact, eliminating class-discrimination in immigration policy could actually help Canada's poor. When we allow only wealthy foreign nationals into Canada, they move to the suburbs, buy large lots with parking spaces, and cars. The poor who can't afford a car jest end up even more marginalized in such an urban environment.

Should we eliminate class-discrimination in immigration policy, more working-class poor might move to Canada, move into the less expensive parts of town, buy smaller lots, move closer to work and walk to work, etc. Result? urban environments that would be not only more environmentally friendly but more poor-friendly too.

Try googling "Poverty on the rise in BC"

BC's fuel use dropped 16% while it rose 3% in the rest of Canada. B.C.’s personal and corporate income tax rates are now among the lowest in Canada. As for the economy, B.C.’s GDP has slightly outperformed the rest of Canada’s since the carbon tax began.

This is what carbon pricing and high energy costs cause.

Among Canadian cities, Metro Vancouver has the second highest rate of working poverty (8.7% of the working-age population), after Greater Toronto (9.1%). The hardship is even more severe in these two regions than the statistics show, since the measure of poverty used in the study does not account for differences in housing costs across the country. - See more at: https://www.policyalternatives.ca/n...vancouver-municipalities#sthash.uaw2u4Og.dpuf

No evidence provided.

I won't take your suggestion so you can keep being angry at yourself.

None needed. Many urban zones require 110 000$ Income a year to sustain a rise in cost.
Having a child automaticaly lowers the income of the familly to 80 000$. Or adds a 12000$. Cost in childcare.

Anyone with a child is automaticly placed in finacial trouble by having a kid.

all canadian kkds are placed in a situation where finacial difficulty have a higher chance of happening.
