It would have been a Conservative minority if the two leftists parties remained split.

Yes. JT played to the nutters, NDP shot themselves in the foot and the rest is history.

Looks like trump is looking to make something like that happen.

News flash: There is somebody stupider than you out there, Jeb Bush. lol.
Jeb Bush: My brother helped keep America safe. Donald Trump: 9/11 happened on his watch. | Post News
Donald Trump accused George W. Bush of failing America on 9/11 — in an ugly exchange with Jeb Bush during Saturday night's Republican debate.
Trump started the fight with Bush, calling him out for his vague answer on the Iraq War last year.
Bush swung back hard at Trump, making it personal, too: "While Donald Trump was building a reality TV show, my brother was building a security apparatus to keep us safe. And I'm proud of what he did."
Trump jumped in with the harshest line: "The World Trade Center came down during your brother's reign. Remember that."
Trump's argument is simple: If George W. Bush really kept America safe, as Jeb Bush claims, then why did 9/11 happen under George W. Bush's watch?
Trump's made this argument before: He told Bloomberg TV in 2015, "When you talk about George Bush, I mean, say what you want, the World Trade Center came down during his time."
But this is the first time that Trump has made the argument on the debate stage.

Technically uphill is the struggle and downhill is coasting.

No, Trump is trying to play the wedge like Harper.

He's working with a very limited number of people, which is why it would be an easy win for the Democrats if he becomes the Republican candidate.

Trump is the US' right wing bobble head version of our left wing bobble head.

If Trudeau is just a bobble head then you should be happy since he isn't changing any of Harper's policies.

But in the real world, we are looking at much higher spending and policy changes that will be significant.

Yes. And are both in a historically successful partie in their own respectful country.

You both are doing a horrible job at selling this pretend narrative.

Trump plays wedge politics like Harper did.

He relies on a specific base of angry old timers, but those people aren't enough for a significant majority and their support is dying (literally) by the day.

Who's trying. I'm just here to mock you.

And JT appealed to empty headed youngsters. Like I said, opposites.

Younger people in this day and age are much more intelligent than elders but that's besides the point.

There is statistical analysis which shows both leftist parties have a variety of voters whereas Conservative voters are predominantly old, white and male.

Just because they are at opposing spaces of a said spectrum, doesn't mean they aren't playing politics in the same way.

Of course not.

But Liberals try to play inclusion and 'big tent' whereas the Conservatives and Trump plays wedge and division.

And the latter have to play that card as there are only so many angry, old white dudes out there.

Imagine of Trump wasn't an angry asshat all the time.

He'd lose those votes.

Just because someone is intelligent, doesn't make them smart.

I know someone with a doctorate who fell for "I'm a feminist, but I'm one with misogynist Muslims." In hind sight, she's kicking herself in the a$$.

That's how you separate the wheat from the chaff. The smart start backing away, when they clue in. Only idiots like you dig your heels in.

But the world is 100 times more complex.

I think when we put that into the equation, our intelligence hasn't grown fast enough to compensate and keep up.

The world is complex, but like I said, it's clear who is targeted by Conservatives and the stats back up those voter segments quite clearly.
