I've been thinking about this and what I saw tonight was a Prime Minister who had outsmarted himself and is now sitting in checkmate between a Rook and a Queen.

Here are his options.

  • Call Jody Wilson-Raybould a liar and alienate all of his fellow feminists.
  • Call into question her abilities as attorney general and further alienate the aboriginal vote.

He can claim he was doing what was best for Quebec...errrr ummm...he really meant Canada. Or maybe he was thinking about his riding of Papineau...errr ummm...he really meant all those poor folk at SNC Lavalin...you know the shareholders...oh wait the workers the workers... he meant the workers!!

NOW FOR A BIG HEAPING CUPFUL OF DEFLECTION!

ANDREW SHEER IS AS EVIL AS STEPHEN HARPER!
YOU KNOW THEY'RE ENCOURAGING TRUCKERS TO RUN OVER CITIZENS!
NEXT THERE WILL BE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS!

BY THE WAY KIDS! THIS JUST IN, WE'LL PAY FOR YOUR POT PARDONS!
LOOK OVER THERE! IT'S CHECK CUTTING APOLOGY TIME!

What a firking joke this prime minister is.

It'll be fun watching him squirm when he gets his subpoena for appearance and emails in the Vice Admiral Mark Norman trial as well.
The Norman defense team contends, you guessed it, political interference.

This makes the Duffy Affair look like amateur hour.

This Prime Minister and his Cronies should resign immediately.

What he did here was a crime.
Thoughts?

Trudeau wanted gender balance in his new government. Jody Wilson-Raybould sang like a canary and threw the Prime Minister under the Bus.

Lesson learned.

Never hire a self-aggrandizing feminist broad into the fold. Stick with the old boy's club...where at least there's honor among thieves.

From my understanding, he did not commit any criminal offence. That said, just because something is legal doesn't mean you should do it. He clearly crossed a major ethical line and maybe there should be a crime against what he did, but of course it should not apply retroactively, but just as a warning to any future political-interferer-in-chief.

As for Wilson-Raybould, if she were running in my riding even as an independent, I'd very seriously consider voting for her. What we need more than anything are MPs of character. Next election, vote for your best local candidate and forget about party affiliations.

My thoughts, Ron.
He all but did call her a liar yesterday - just not in those words. His attempt to deflect his removal of Wilson-Raybould from office due to Brison's resignation is yet another example of the arrogance and duplicity of this government and the PM especially considering the fact that her replacement has direct ties to SNC Lavalin and is from Quebec. It almost makes me wonder if trudeau took Brison aside and told him that there was a cushy job waiting for him and that he needed to do something about this bothersome AG, so best you get out of here Scott.

Not being a legal expert, I do not know whether they crossed the line into criminality - that is for the RCMP to decide should they be called in. They most certainly, IMO, broke ethical rules by exerting so much continuous pressure on the former AG. Wilson-Raybould's documentation of the many attempts to interfere in her decision stand as proof that the PM, PMO and the clerk of the Privy Council crossed the line into political interference in a criminal case.

It is now up to the ethics commish to bring this bunch to heel. Each and every one of them should be roundly censored for their attempts to thwart the law.

As a poster in another forum opined 'this PM wears slime better than any other' so no he won't resign. In fact, I hope he doesn't because soundly defeating this bunch in the coming election would be the best outcome for the country and just desserts for a government that has from the beginning talked the talk but never once walked the walk.

I'm no fan Wilson-Raybould, HH but your characterization of her is, IMO, beyond the pale. I suggest you read her complete statement to the committee as it just might inform you of what she endured at the hands of the PM, PMO and the clerk of the Privy Council. Had she not spoken the truth about the many attempts to interfere with her decision, she could very well have faced charges of perjury - especially considering the amount of documentation she brought to the hearings. Someone sooner or later would have blown the whistle and it would have all come out anyway. Her only choice was to come completely clean and let the chips fall where they may.

Yeah, he can stay on and destroy the Liberal party like Mulroney destroyed the PCs and the Wynned Bag destroyed the Ontario Liberals. We can only hope.

Raybould could have simply reiterated to the powers that be, that she was taking all things into consideration over this file. It's almost like she is sticking it to Trudeau over transgressions made hundreds of years ago against natives, based on her remarks.

Where is the loyalty?

At this point it's criminal. For one, this special treatment for corporations was hidden in a massive omnibus bill. Now, wasn't Trudeau one of the ones screaming and bitching the loudest about omnibus bills during the Harper years? Why, yes it was. But this special provision is also intended for those who self-report. SNC-Lavalin did NOT self-report their activities. The fact that ANY pressure was put on the AG in regards to SNC is a direct violation of Trudeau's own policy and a contravention of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Most women don't understand how big business gets done, which is why they don't belong at the upper echelons of power. Raybould is a product of hiring over gender rather than merit. She will now be held on a pedestal by the #metoo movement and the anti-bullying campaigns when, and the end of the day, she is no more than a disloyal rat in my opinion.

In reading the comments by former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould, in her testimony Wednesday at the House of Commons justice committee are sure interesting.
The expected reaction by Justin Trudeau (herein after referred to as Just-in), is text book talk by the Liberals. One thing that we as Canadians should be aware of is that “this is the way that the Lying Liberals have run the government for 150 years (when they were in power) and it is about time that we got used to it.”
I did note that Just-in in his rebuttal to her comments said that he did not do anything wrong, (maybe in the eyes of the Liberals) and I noted he did so with a straight face. Are we seeing him say this all the time (lying with a straight face) or did he use the last week and a half taking a refresher coursed on same?
So now that Just-in did not get his way to convince her to let SNC-Lavalin off the hook on bribery charges, what revenge can he inflict on her, and not be obvious in the eyes of the public that are not Liberal supporters? Should he decide to use revenge again, would he run the risk that she can provide further evidence that he did wrong? We will have to wait and see what he will do, should he chose to get revenge or be a man and admit that he erred and ask to move on.
I have copied a quote from an article written on February 27, 2019. Wilson-Raybould believed Privy Council clerk Michael Wernick was issuing "veiled threats" to her in a phone call they had on Dec. 19, 2018, in which he told her that the prime minister was still concerned and wanted to know why a deferred-prosecution agreement wasn't being pursued. She said Wernick told her: "I think (the prime minister) is going to find a way to get it done one way or another. He is in that kind of mood and I wanted you to be aware of it."
What would anybody do when the question of ethics is raised about what was said by Michael Wernick? It sounds like Just-in is trying to convince her to vote his way or go down the highway? Would Just-in be using this to buy votes in Quebec, knowing that SNC-Lavalin would stop giving the Lying Liberals campaign money or worse than that, stop giving him money in his secret bank account in Switzerland?

We are told on the internet that Just-in has given away 13.849 BILLION DOLLARS to other countries and charitable foundations. Is there a chance that Just-in is giving away this money, with the creation of debt, without any strings attached? Canadian should be aware that this money should be repaid sometime and just the interest on that money, at 2% is $277,000,000, that the government cannot use to help Canadians.
Fellow Canadians should be aware that when we hear that Quebec is more corrupt than Africa, should we trust Just-in to be not corrupt? Did he learn to be corrupt from his father, or did he learn same from his fellow Lying Liberals? Ask him in the House of Commons!

Arguably against his policies but not sure what law he broke. Ms Raybould testified he did not break a law

She wasn't sure if he broke the law plus it is not for her to accuse him of breaking the law it is up to investigators to get the facts and prosecutors to lay the charges
