I can definitely identify with the last sentence. There were 5 kids in our family and my dad was a barber plus he drove a school bus to supplement his income and my mom also drove a school bus part time to help. So no, we didn't have it easy either. Fortunately, my mom was extremely frugal which helped us get through to where we are today. My siblings are now better off than my grand parents & my parents and I would hope that their children will do even better. How true. "Good ole days that never existed."
Back in the day.... it was as hard to keep up, rent or buy, raise a family, pay the bills as it is today.
Sick and tired of hearing the younger generations saying it was easier in the "good ole days" because it was not.
I agree in the statement that the younger generations think it was easier when it wasn't. Of course there were people who were "better off" and went on holidays just as the "better off" do today. That doesn't mean that the vast majority of Canadians "had it easy" then or now. Apparently, the country going severely in debt means that people who chose not to better themselves because they can rely on government handouts is ok. Lets see where that takes us.....
