Nice twist and dodge there Cannuckle! I wasn't talking about any of this latest stuff you've brought

Well, of course not. Why would you want to talk about things that clearly show you have no idea what you are talking about? If I repeatedly said silly shyte like you, I wouldn't want to talk about it either

You're advertising your ignorance again, even though you can't recall what's been written a lot of the audience can. :) :) :) :)

I see you've decided to give jlm a run for his money as the most ignorant member of CC

Long Haul Truck Driver (HGV / LGV Drivers)

And you're pissed off because you're afraid he'll bump you out of your position. :) :) :)

I can understand your need to make this about me. All you trolls do that once you realize you're completely wrong.

Nice twist and dodge there Cannuckle! I wasn't talking about any of this latest stuff you've brought up but your arrogance in labelling truck drivers as unintelligent. Now your ignorance is starting to rub off on Gerry.................if that's possible! :) :) My Dad drove a logging truck for most of his working life and my son has driven various types of heavy trucks, both logging and in the oil fields. So the profession is not totally foreign to me. :) :)

These guys are just talking through their a$$ Boom Boom!

The ones talking out of there a$$'s would be you and boomer. The fact that there are many, many highly qualified and responsible truck drivers does not change the fact that there are many that do not meet that criteria because the industry, as a whole, does not demand it. The 1990 incident is just one case. If all you want to do is offer antidotal evidence, then I have one for ya.

3 weeks agoi my wife and I were entering onto the deerfoot, northbound, off of Anderson rd. Ahead of us was an 18 wheeler out of Abbotsford BC. As he entered deerfoot, he cut across 2 lanes almost hitting a mini van and caused that Van to have to also cut across 2 lanes to avoid being side swiped. The 18 wheeler exited the deerfoot 2 exits later and when it came to a stop I pulled up beside him. I asked if he realized that he had just cut off a mini van and almost sideswiped it. His response..."So fu cking what? I didn't hit them"

Yup, truckers are real winners.

And you're pissed off because you're afraid he'll bump you out of your position. :) :) :)

Did you read the link JLM? It shows that they are actively recruiting immigrants for long haul trucker positions. You know, the people that boomer says CAN'T get a job as a long haul trucker?

You just keep digging that hole deeper and deeper.

Stop being so silly. You're wrong. Be a man and accept it. Thank me for teaching you something and move on. That's the mature thing to do.

I could care less what they are flapping their gums about...

Cannock is right as far as hiring immigrants, many companies hire new drivers at $14hr to $17hr. We watch them trying to back in at the depot and get a real kick.. 20 times later they might get it into a door.

However, as you gain experience, acquire a good DAC Report with no accidents, tanker experience, LCV License and so on, you get paid a lot more.. then, if you're smart you buy a rig, then two and three.. and hire an immigrant ;)

For me Trucking is fun.. it's not that way for everyone.. I hear a lot of bitching on the CB.

It also doesn't hurt if your rig is outfitted with a Fridge, Microwave and of course DirecTV (VuQube)

I've talked with a few truckers and what they tell me is it is very hard to be courteous and conscientious when it feels like someone has rammed a red hot boulder up yer azz. I'll bet radio disc jockeys and talk show hosts like Rash the limbutt have the same affliction. The arze ain't made to be sittin on it all day turns it into an enflamed set of mudflaps.

The cure is a RECARO® Truck Seat if you're an owner operator and proper posture.

Yes I did read the link laying out the qualifications of long haul truck drivers (starting out they had to be between 25 and 55 and needing experience and clean criminal record etc. etc.) I should first apologize for blowing up on you, I don't normally question your knowledge about things. At no time during this discussion did I try to assert any knowledge about the physical requirements for driving heavy trucks as about most of it I really do have no idea (the dashboard looks like the cockpit of a 787). My intention in it's entirety was to haul Cannucklehead up short for tarring all drivers with the broad brush of being stupid. Having had many friends relatives, etc. in the industry I think I'm a fair judge of their intelligence. That was my ONLY point.

Ummmm....no..... there is no excuse for what the shyte head did. He assaulted a woman.

If you had bothered to read my post you would have noticed I acknowledged that point and said he was to blame for that and should be suspended.

Yeah, I know... I'm making YOU feel bad for being such an Unemployed Welfare Grabbing Loser..

Here's your thread...

You may have hit the nail on the head there. :) (I never heard of a job where you can spend any weekday on internet forums.) :) :) :)

No, no you're not.

That's because you were a nine to five labourer. Times change. It's unfortunate you were unable to keep up. I'm at work right now BTW

I guess some people just have it lucky. I never could find a job that paid money for acting like an A$$hole on the internet! :) :) :)
