Under what thread of law or philosophy should we consider trans rights?

Civil rights and non-discrimination?

Freedom to do what one chooses, provided nobody else is harmed?

Parental say-so over their children?

Something else?

They are human and have all the rights which come with person hood. Same as you and me because even lawyers, believe it or not, are human.

But those rights do not come with extra ones like the right to be addressed by a chosen pronoun
Human and person are two separate entities. It's why abortion isn't murder. You can kill humans but the instant they have paperwork as a person you can't. Not even by accident.

But if you kill a pregnant woman you get get charged with two counts. Go figure.

I would think that trans persons would have the same rights as anyone else.

No more, no less.
Same rights as everyone else, no more, no less.
