How many accidents are caused by humans rather than those that aren't? My bet would be the stats would be much higher for human-caused accidents.

Not what you said. You said, and I quote "People kill people period." In point of fact, the two greatest killers of people are medical conditions and accidents in which no-one is culpable.

I take your point: it's a bit silly to be focussing on gun homicides when there are so many other, greater, more-or-less preventable causes of death. At the same time, I find that your enthusiasm in expressing this point leads you into some less than completely accurate statements. It also at least implies that we should ignore gun deaths until/unless these other causes are dealt with. I disagree. Society can deal with multiple causes of death at the same time.

If you're thinking about going on a gun rant in response, save your breath. I despise "gun control." I have quoted my belief on this board several times. . .

If it had a lock on it, it wasn't accessible at all, was it? If you couldn't do anything with it, then it's safe.

True. Still if I had one and a kid Id still put it somewhere where they cant get to at all.

Northern Ontario,
Yeah, we should round up all teens and off them. That's Chicago, so it must be an applicable comment about everywhere else, right?

Something didn't work, Sleepy. "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to www.medicalnewstoday.com

The number of deaths from medical errors in both the U S and Canada is surprising...

wow!

Not what you said. You said, and I quote "People kill people period." In point of fact, the two greatest killers of people are medical conditions and accidents in which no-one is culpable.
Oh, sorry. Then I retract. No-one kills anyone. lol the comment "people kill people period" does not exclude other causes. I meant it within the window where guns and vehicles are visible. You want to expand the topic into every aspect of life, you go right ahead, but I would prefer to at least halfways stick to the topic. Most crashes are caused by inattention. That's a human thing. Most gun accidents are also human things.

I take your point: it's a bit silly to be focussing on gun homicides when there are so many other, greater, more-or-less preventable causes of death. That seems like a personal impression of what I said. My actual point was that the media steers people's attention with their sensationalism. If they'd stress the instances of higher priorities, we all might be better off.

If you're thinking about going on a gun rant in response, save your breath. I despise "gun control." I have quoted my belief on this board several times. . .
Nope. You must be thinking about some other ranter.
