With the Pens down 4 zip going into the 3rd, I'll leave them to figure out the 3rd by themselves while I turn to the Blue Jays who appear to be having a pretty darn good game. They are up 8 - 1 bottom of the 7th.

8 - 2...........Sanchez gave up a run but got a double play to end the inning.

Darwin Barney gets one back for the Jays and it's 9 - 2 top of the 8th.

9 - 3 final. Good one Jays. Lots of homers from the Jays tonight. Sanchez had a good game.

Apparently, all the players got together and dreamed it up - took it to the managers - got the okay and that as they say, is that.

So, the secret is to take the game to extra innings...............crafty........sort of wear them down by attrition.

Extra innings against the second worst team in the league.

Good hitting today. Hope it holds up after this series.

Gavin Floyd may not have been the proper choice as a replacement. :)

You think?

I don't know what it more irritating IRBS - watching the Jays give the game away or having to listen to Buck moan on about the Jay's bad luck as he rambles off all their bad stats.

Our own BC lad Michael Saunders has been a real go-to guy for the team since his acquisition. He rarely fails to get a hit or more.

Nobody has ever claimed Buck is not a homeboy announcer.

I guess they better hope for a win tomorrow to do better than a split against the 2nd worst team in baseball.

That's the ball game folks.

Stroman on the mound tomorrow. They have a chance to win the series. Wonder which team will come out onto the field?

I love watching Greg - he's such a sharp dresser.

When I was listening to sportscasters talk about the miserable record of the Twins prior to their series with the Jay's, I remember thinking that if they can't beat these guys they truly are on shaky ground. I do hope they will not let that happen.

Now I am going to watch Canadian owned Nyquist run in the Preakness.

He actually got tagged with the loss. But if your team only scores 2 runs on your behalf that sometimes happens.

I didn't watch the last few innings, so didn't know if he was responsible for the runs or not,
so I did wonder if he had a loss or just a no decision. too bad, all that work and a loss tagged
on him as well.

I was only getting updates but I believe he gave up the double that tied the game. The person who got the double was brought in the 3 run HR off Gavin Floyd. So although Floyd gave up the 3 run HR, the first of those runs was charged to Happ. As that was the go ahead run (and the game was never re-tied), Happ gets the loss.

I always thought the way they assigned Ws and Ls pretty screwy. If pitcher A pitches a brilliant 7 innings and leaves down 1-0. Reliever B comes on the 8th and sucks and gives up 10 runs. The offense scores 10 in the 9th making final score 11-10, pitcher A will be charged with the loss even though the 11th run was given up by reliever B.

Just checked other scores and it seems the Yankees are starting to put things together. Jays are now the new basement team 6.5 games out of first.

And if they are smart they'll get a couple of gloves thrown in. :) :)

That would be asking too much for him.

I think they won't get much for him but ideally I would like to see them get a good #4 starter and move Sanchez into the pen. It's not that he hasn't done a good job as starter its just that he has shown he can be great in the pen and it is unlikely they would get a quality reliever in a trade. But my thoughts are they won't get any takers as everybody can see how much he is sucking this year (and last -- Washington demoted him from closer mid-season for a reason -- only our ex-Cleveland GM didn't get the memo appearantly).
