no deciding anything from a single game in august, this team is doing well over and over again,
giving fans a very positive feeling, just make the playoffs, if not, a wild card spot, looking
good for both of those things to happen, I'm just enjoying each game, not thinking about anything
else, if one loves the game, then one loves watching this team right now, keep on keepin on jays.

I'd be well entertained if I only got to watch Donaldson at bat, talloola. In the top of the 4th he took something like 8 or 9 pitches before he connected. Must have driven the pitcher crazy - Donaldson either got a piece of the ball or read the pitch as a ball and let it go. True enjoyment watching them throughout the game at bat or on the field. GO JAYS, GO!

9 to 5 Jays........top of the 6th.

Bottom of the 8th Jays get 2 more runs in but leave the bases loaded as Navarro strikes out. Back to CFL. 11 - 5 Jays

Jays sweep series. Rock on Jays.

just like the nhl, so so many people can't seem to enjoy the present, always watching with a slightly
negative approach, and only can look to the playoffs, and that Stanley cup conversation, the game is
about the game, a great game, enjoy 'the' game, make it fun for yourself, same in baseball, its the
game, how its played, each good play that happens throughout a game, who gives a rat's buttock right
now about the end of the season, its like forgetting to stop and smell the flowers.

Second game of the series between the Jays and Texas Rangers is tied 2 apiece bottom of the 4th. Price let two runners on base then struck out the next three batters in a row. Nice, Price.

Top of the 5th now and Jose Bautista was just given a walk on 4 straight balls.

Smoak just got a homer with Bautista on third - Jays up by 2 more.

And Yanks already lost. Teams that have to lose for the Jays have been and they have been taking care of their own business.

Going to see them play the Tigers this Saturday with my 14 year old son. My son is a Detroit fan so it should be interesting.

I'll be looking for you in the stands, IRBS.............. Hope you have a grand time with your son.

Kevin Pillar just got his 8th homer of the season and the Jays are up 5 to 2 top of the 6th.

Jose Bautista is having an easy night so far, he's been walked four times. Bases are loaded - nobody is out, top of the 6th.

Oops and the Jays got another run in and are up 6 - 2.

Grand Slam homer for Edwin Encarnacion and the Jays are 10 to 2 and they just had their first out of the inning.

Another good night. If they sweep the Rangers, I think they will have pretty much secured a wildcard spot. Now lets set our sights on the division.

I don't know what is more fun to watch, the offense racking up runs and homers or the defense with their outstanding catches and dead-eye dick throws. I've only seen one glitch tonight and that was a miss by the catcher on a low ball to the plate - a runner advanced but Price left him on base.

The guys are havin' fun out there - good to see.

The Rangers are raiding their bull pen quite frequently tonight.

Rangers just gave up their 10th walk of the night and the bases are loaded, I think there is one out.

Sorry nobody out.

Jays get two more runs in to lead 12 - 2.............I think they have this game well in hand.

12-4 final. 11 walks taken.

Back when the hot spell started, we swept the Twins and knocked them out of the wildcard spot. Last weekend we swept the Angels out of the wildcard spot. Tonight we have pushed Texas out of the wildcard spot (back to the Twins).

Bet you and your son had a great time at the game, IRBS..........well maybe not so much your son being a Tiger's fan........but it was another great night for the Jays and being there to see the back-to-back homers must have been fabulous. Even Steven Stamkos was there to cheer the team on. Nice win for the Jays.

No Blue Jays team since '93 has had the depth in their batting order to consistently come back from deficits. Tulowitzki has anchored their defense at second, as well as providing a potent bat. Price is a dependable ace. They have all the ingredients, pitching, hitting, fielding.. including a winning attitude.. for.. dare i say.. no i dare not.. not in August anyway. ;)

My son above all else is a fair weather fan. He was going to wear his Tiger stuff but decided at the last minute to wear his Blue Jay stuff. He was very happy. His favourite part was the hats being thrown on the field after the grand slam (the 3rd of the homer hat trick from Encarnation). The only person that did not enjoy that however was the PA announcer who was frantically telling everybody they would be ejected if they kept throwing stuff on the field.

My favourite part was the 2 base sac fly. Goins was on second and Donaldson hit a long fly to right centre. Goins tagged and went full out to third. But the centre fielder apparently mis-counted the outs and didn't immediately throw back so Goins kept going.

The 6 runs in the 7th were against the only releiver who had an ERA below 6. His was 1.75 going in. Probably not anymore.

There were also 2 almost identical plays where the right fielder failed to catch the ball. One by Detroit and one by Batista. Only the Detroit one was called an error. Example of home town scoring. Both plays led to runs for the respective teams.

ETA: I went to today's game. :)

The place must have been absolutely electric, IRBS.............nothing like being in a stadium when the home team is on a high....the energy in the place could have fueled the lights.

I didn't watch the entire game as the CFL always comes first with me this time of year..........our season is so short and I like to keep up with the teams. Will have to go online and watch a game replay as I would love to see the Grand Slam.

Had to go to town today so missed the game and will watch it online too.........thank heavens for Xplornet.

OMG.............I just went to check the sports news...........the Jays lead the headlines.........15 - 1!!! ..........Encarnacion was smokin' out there today and set all kinds of records. It must have been wonderful to be there and see it live, IRBS.........I am really happy for you. The Jays are 20 and 5 in August.........that just rocks.

It was good. There was never any doubt. I sometimes like a barnburner where the Jays win it in the bottom of the 9th. But place was packed (sellout). Most people had left by the 8th.

I believe major league long hit streak is 56 games. If Encarnacion hits in all his remaining games this year, his streak will be 57. I don't think it will be done. When Paul Molitor hit 39, by that time the media was so all over him that he said dealing with the attention was harder than actually hitting.

Longest Blue Jay streak is Shawn Green in 1999 @ 28 games. Olerud has a 26 game streak in 1993 and somebody else with 26 in 1999. Encarnacion streak is 4th longest in Blue Jays history.

remember when jays were 7 games behind Yankees? not very long ago.

No it wasn't, talloola and with the Yanks breathing down their necks it is a good thing that the Jays are super hot right now. Like you, I am just enjoying every game and celebrating every win for the team and their fans. I can't remember a time when I was so riveted by a baseball game. Or was sorry to have missed one. The Jays make watching baseball so much fun whether they are at bat or on the field. I am so glad I am able to watch today's game - where the Jays are currently up 6 - 0 at the bottom of the 5th.

GO JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYS.........GO!

No they have gained a lot of grounds. Which is why one cannot get comfortable with a 1.5 game lead. :)

It's quite an exiting time to watch baseball. I haven't felt this exited about the team since 1993 (and before) when you felt that the Jays were the best team on the field and expected them to win.
