No kids were beat in public schools? Ever get the strap?

Exactly my point.... a residential school kid gets strapped daily, no one knows. A public school kid gets strapped daily, mom and dad complain, because they're seeing the abuse. Saying that the abuses that occurred in residential school were strictly race based because it didn't happen in public school is flawed. Residential school was a unique environment in which children couldn't talk to mom and dad about what was happening, whether they were white kids or native kids. It was social engineering gone completely off the rails.

As I said, way past time to GTF over it.
Jackpot!!!

Strapped daily? Give it a rest.

I'm from a generation that got a backhand for f*cking up. I have no sympathy.

at school we had the belt, at home we had the belt.
at school we had the pointer or yard stick, at home we had a switch or a wooden spoon.

Times were different then, than they are now.

Exactly. And if you've ever lived in a dorm the same rules apply today. EVERYBODY does housekeeping, if you don't expect punishment or expulsion. Back then, you got a backhand instead of TV time reduced.

What happened to youth crime when the belts disappeared from school and home?

I'm still waiting for Machjo to explain why the mortality rate in res schools was so high. I have a feeling he's frantically googling it so he doesn't get his *** handed to him again.

Kids dropped like flies back in the day. There were two infant deaths in my family. One SIDS one from fever from measles. When was the last time you heard of a kid getting measles?

Ah... I overlooked this.

How about undernourishment, mixing kids with illnesses etc. It didn't help.
