Mutual funds are all in favour of the vendor. Paying 3% while they make 50 times that for themselves with your money.

I took my union pension as a lump sum and bought shares in Ford and have been smiling ever since. The dividends alone are equal to what my monthly pension would have added up while the principle sits in my RRSP. Taking the dividends avoids having to turn it into an annuity iirc. Company is dirt cheap right now as well despite having close to $30 billion in cash. Eventually it will be worth more than Tesla imo.

But you be you and good luck hanging on to what you can. Banks are not your friend, again imo.
I have no use for banksters either. RRSPs were about the only tax deduction I have now. Income tax refunds go back into the pot. It is only the stuff in RRSPs I am somewhat concerned about, and only because of the looming 71st bday.

As long as you don’t die , just redeem a portion every year .

While Canada isn't being targeted by Trump's global tariffs, the country is being hit by U.S. automobile, steel and aluminum tariffs and still faces the ongoing threat of economywide fentanyl-related tariffs.

Ottawa added to its retaliatory measures today in response to the automobile duties by implementing similar tariffs on vehicles imported from the United States.

Unlike the American duties, Canada will not tariff auto parts or Mexican vehicles and components.

On Tuesday, even as Trump boasted that dozens of countries have reached out to try to make deals, he also said the tariffs will stay in place to provide revenue.

Trump's attempt to realign global trade is causing cracks to appear in Republican solidarity, with some senators questioning Tuesday whether it was the right move.

The Privy Council Office Guidelines state that government activity during a caretaker period should be restricted to matters that are:
  • routine, or
  • non-controversial, or
  • urgent and in the public interest, or
  • reversible by a new government without undue cost or disruption, or
  • agreed to by opposition parties (in those cases where consultation is appropriate).
Carney, either not being a politician, or being a Liberal & knowing/assuming rules are for others, probably either hasn’t read the above or assumes it’s for “others.”

China retaliated against new U.S. tariffs Wednesday, hours after Washington imposed a 104 per cent levy on Chinese goods, as a trade war between the world’s two largest economies threatened to spin out of control.

In a statement, the Chinese Finance Ministry said a new 84 per cent tariff would apply to all US imports from April 10, up from a previously announced 34 per cent levy.

Speaking at a government forum in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for greater regional co-operation and emphasized China’s diplomatic and trade ties with its neighbours, as state media unleashed a barrage of criticism against the U.S.

“Our country’s relations with its neighbours are currently at their best since modern times,” Mr. Xi said, calling for the “strengthening of industrial and supply chain co-operation.”

While he did not directly reference the U.S., Mr. Xi’s remarks – reported by state media hours after Mr. Trump’s tariffs, including a new 104-per-cent levy on Chinese exports, went into force – come as Beijing is positioning itself as a rational, pro-globalization alternative to an increasingly unpredictable Washington.
In an editorial Wednesday, the official Xinhua News Agency said President Donald Trump’s latest escalation “reeks of desperation.”

“If Washington believes that ramping up pressure can compel Beijing to give in, it is engaging in wishful thinking,” the editorial said. “The United States is far from immune to the economic wounds of the trade war it has ignited. American markets are already feeling the strain, businesses face growing uncertainties, and the risk of recession is ballooning.”

We are already in a recession. The data has just been manipulated to hide that fact.

I lost about that since January 1.
The globullists did say we would own nothing and be happy. When does the be happy about poverty part start?
I'm not worried about. I won't be dieing poor because of it. It sucks but I never complained about its growth on the backs of the poor.
