Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson "wouldn't rule out" a potential bid for the U.S. presidency.
The 44-year-old wrestler-turned-actor has never made a secret of his interest in politics, and cited the recent election, where ex The Apprentice judge Donald Trump was made America's president-elect, as proof that he could set his sights on the White House if he wanted to.
“I wouldn’t rule it out,” Dwayne told Vanity Fair magazine when asked if he would consider running for president in 2020. "It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible. This past election shows that anything can happen."
His comment comes after he told Britain's GQ magazine back in June that he had been thinking about a career change into the political field.
“I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring. And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale,” he said at the time.
In May, Johnson also retweeted a message from the Independent Journal Review encouraging him to run for the presidency, and added in his reply: "Maybe one day. Surely the White House has a spot for my pick up truck."
Dwayne isn't the only famous face to put his name in the hat for the next election. Hellboy star Ron Perlman posted a video on his Facebook page last week, telling fans: "I am hereby using my immense Facebook presence to announce my candidacy for President of United States, 2020."
Chris Rock also said he is considering running for the position, tweeting "I’m gonna run in 2020 wish me luck", while Kanye West previously revealed his intention to make a bid for the White House.

Jay Z couldn’t get Hillary Clinton to the White House, but Radar Online- Hottest Celebrity Gossip & Entertainment News has exclusively learned that the 46-year-old rap mogul hubby of superstar Beyonce is getting ready to run for his own political office!
As fans know, the rapper and his 32-year-old “Lemonade” singer wife openly support the Democratic party. Aside from Beyonce performing the National Anthem at President Obama ‘s inauguration in 2012, both also performed at a last-minute rally for Clinton in Cleveland during this presidential campaign.
But after Clinton’s recent defeat by President-elect Donald Trump , the insider said, “Jay Z is really considering running for political office in New York and Beyonce is 1000 percent supportive of her husband’s decision.”
“Beyonce and Jay Z became friends with Barack Obama and Michelle and they have always been close with the Clintons,” said the source. “The Obamas and Clintons have told Jay Z on numerous occasions that he should get involved in politics.”
“They told him that he would make a great leader,” the source told Radar. “Jay Z not only has star power, but he would have a ton of support from his fans, as well as from past administrations.”
Kanye West, who may or may not still be friends with Jay Z announced at the MTV Video Music Awards this year that he would also run for president in 2020. He also found some support on Twitter following the recent elections that would pair the rapper with former First Lady Michelle Obama.
As Radar previously reported, the father to four-year-old Blue Ivy , put his music career on hold last year so that his wife, Beyonce, could release the “Lemonade” album and go on a world tour.
Said the insider, “Beyonce told Jay Z that running for political office would be a really good next step for his career and she feels like it will also give him a sense of purpose.”

Kanye West to run for president in 2024
featured by
Kanye West is hoping to kick-start a career in politics as he reveals plans to run for U.S. president in 2024.
Earlier this year, the rapper’s wife Kim Kardashian announced she was training to become a lawyer, and is looking to sit the state bar exam in California in 2024.
It seems the reality TV star’s shift in career path has inspired her husband Kanye, as he too is plotting a new venture for that year – to become POTUS.
During his appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York on Thursday Kanye said: “When I run for president in 2024, we’re going to definitely- yo whatchu all laughing at?

“When I run for president in 2024, we would’ve created so many jobs that, in fact, I’m going to walk,” he continued. “What I’m saying is, when y’all read the headlines, ‘Kanye’s crazy,’ this and that, this and that, it’s like one in three African Americans are in jail and all of the celebrities are in jail also because they can’t say nothing! They’ve got no opinion! They’re so scared!”
The Yeezy mogul is a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, and was even invited to join Trump for lunch at the White House in Washington, D.C. in October last year, when he proudly wore his red cap bearing the property mogul-turned-politician’s ‘Make America Great Again’ election campaign slogan, and ranted about a wide range of issues, including criminal justice reform and mental healthcare.
