A Mouse Once Bit My Sister
The rich are hording and consolidating their riches so there is less and less for others. It's the middle class and the poor that suffered through the financial collapse engineered by the rich who ended up getting paid billions for screwing people out of their hard earned money.

Think about donning your tin foil hat before the gvt satellites get a lock on your location.

... And yes, each person that has filed an income tax return that stipulated that they made more than 2.5 million dollars received a cheque for 1 billion as part of the work done to engineer the collapse.

So, the solution is to tax the middle and high income earners to support the social services net... Excellent, that'll get the 50% of the population working immediately and paying into the system.... On that note, I suppose that this logic suggests that the decision to mandate higher taxes on the middle and top tiers - you know, the ones that risk their time and money to start business' that employ people - these folks will rush to expand their businesses and/or start up new ones.

Sounds real fool proof, you'd almost wonder why no one has tried it before, especially Obama who has been threatening to do exactly what you suggest.... Kinda makes you wonder why he hasn't pulled the trigger on that yet, considering it was a campaign promise he made.

Anywho, good luck as Engineer on this train wreck.

I challenge you to find out where I said anything about taxation in my post. As usual you are not capable of understanding anything that does not protect the interests of the ultra-wealthy. However, I am happy to repeat my point in the hope that you might get it the second time. I said that the US is now a low wage economy for the majority of its population (Canada too for that matter) What needs to be done is to give the average working man and woman a larger share of the economic pie. If raising taxes on the ultra-rich is the only way to do that then so be it, however,

I can think of a few alternatives that would work, such as paying the average worker more in the first place and giving them some hope that the job they have chosen might actually lead to some sort of financial security if they stick with it. Of course, this might mean that overpaid entertainers and sports celebrities (a real bunch of job creators there) might actually have to work for a few dollars less so that the persons who mow their lawns, serve their meals, teach their children and so on might have a reasonable standard of living. I also expect the huge job creators of Wall Street to have to suffer a little. BTW can you actually show me that financiers in general actually create any jobs?

How many of these rich scumbags who engineered the collapse received bailout money, that cost taxpayers trillions, gave themselves millions in bonuses? They scammed everybody and got paid handsomely for their efforts. And perhaps their tax rates are higher than yours but they can also afford accountants to write of and hide their earnings to pay a lot less, if any at all. How many are hiding their cash in numbered accounts overseas? How many billions, if not trillions, are going to corporate welfare and deferred taxes and tax brakes? Your silly attempts to deflect from the rich is getting ridiculous. As Carlin said, "they don't care about you."
