It's been happening since the beginning of time, but what is it, and who is in it? I was watching a video of Hastings Street in Vancouver, and I was shocked at the amount of drug-addicted people there are on a city block. I used to hang out there occasionally as a kid. They aren't hard to spot; they are either horizontal on the ground in front of someone's business, or they are stumbling along like The Walking Dead. It is surreal watching the state of deterioration these new drugs produce. Circling the block on scooters are the poisoners of these people. Drug dealers feed the habit, killing them one hit at a time until they will eventually overdose and die. Our government is in the murder business because it has normalized this behavior under the guise of harm reduction. They are feeding the poison to these people.

In Sweden, they have a Harm Reduction program. They give drugs to drug addicts so they will have a safe supply and don’t die from fentanyl-laced meth or crack. It is very successful. The number of overdoses dropped drastically, and the success rate of addict recovery increased as well. In contrast the Canadian Harm Reduction Program appears to be creating a society of drug addicts. A street hospice to the walking dead, where the angels of death ride around the swarm of misery on scooters day to day, killing people for money. The question is, “Why has Sweden seen success, while Canada seems to be creating more drug addicts and homeless?”

To get in on the Swedish program of Harm Reduction and Drug Replacement, health officials insist on mandatory rehabilitation. If you don't sign up for the program, you don't get the drug replacement or the harm reduction program. You’re on your own. They also have the infrastructure in place to treat people. Our mental health, and addiction recovery programs are almost nonexistent and if you can find a rehab that will take you, you’re probably going on a six to eight week waiting list. If you show up high, you will be turned away. If we truly want to help people, we either need to invest the money in a working model like Sweden or we need do something different. At this point we are enabling and creating a society of the walking dead, and as I write they die and will continue do so.

We need to fix this.

Cuz Jee-zuss says "Blessed are they who are harsh to the addicted, for that shall feel self-righteousness all their days."

I feel ya. Always said, set up little government-operated storefront shops. Ya come in, ya get yer fix, actual retail value (coupla bucks), you have to use it on the premises, and off you go. On the march from the door to the counter, you pass racks and racks of "How to Get Help" literature. Some'll be helped. Others picked this road to hell. Which is everybody's right.

If the socialists want to hand out drugs, they should go the extra mile and only hand them out to those interested in recovery. This just makes more drug addicts.

We do need to fix this but.... its a freaking industry.

In Vancouver there are 2 CUPE BCGEU or NGO employed as babysitters and countless volunteers per homeless addict. That's 6500-7000 people whose livelihoods rely on addiction and destitution in just one...one Canadian city.

That doesn't includes cops, regular healthcare and business that sell pizza by the slice and crackpipes.

By all means dig to disprove me. I sincerely wish you could but reality is reality.

The Swede model is an industry but you can't compare the Scandinavians to Canada. They are by far the whitest Christians on the planet and they absolutely will not tolerate the depravity we see here.

We don't have that mindset. They would be screaming "murder industry" in Canada if white Christians had their way like they can in Sweden.

I'll post some juicy pics this weekend of the blight.

It's not just Hasting anymore. New West, PoCo, Whalley, Haney.....

gone are the good old days when people were happy to just smoke pot and eat those liberty caps that grow between the runways in Richmond.

now that's shit's legal for the most part, so I guess it's gone and taken the fun out of it.

could it be that if they legalized everything like Portugal, that people wouldn't see that bad-boy attraction to it?

I wonder about that.

It is sad though. I've known lots of street people that have lost that battle in the last 8 years or so.

Here’s one of my favourites. Back on August 21st (coincidentally on my birthday) I managed to have a tree branch whip back (even though I was wearing glasses under safety goggles) Up my face and scratch my cornea. Not my first dance with eye injuries. Got both eyes that time, though one worse than the other. Good times.

Being very familiar with the process, I walked to emergency at the hospital to avoid the parking situation, and knowing once they put that goop in my eyeballs, I wouldn’t be able to see for approximately 25 to 30 minutes anyway. Sometimes a man just needs local anaesthetic on his eyeballs and it comes in a paste like Vaseline.

On my blurry walk home, using braille, and an innate of direction, I pointed towards home. After the first five or six blocks, I was able to start to see things. Again, not my first dance with eye injuries. Luckily, I happen to be 6’2” & 200lb+ and for some reason I have a natural “don’t fuck with me” thing going on…so even mostly blind I was probably safer on foot than I would’ve been trying to drive my truck.

Within the first half a block of being able to see enough to be aware of my surroundings, I stumbled across this:
1700919281432.jpeg
No visible crack-pipes, or dumpster-burgers, but obviously a hard day out with the signs doing charitable work for something or another before the “Tranq” kicked in. At least these two found somewhere to sit before it fully kicked in.
1700920122840.jpeg
Others end up out cold, standing under their feet, but folded over like a pocket knife, and much like the “Weebles” of days gone by…they don’t fall down.

Good times. I was basing the diagnosis from the guidance from one of our kids spouses. I’d asked, “What the Hell am I seeing with these junkie freaks folded over double, unconscious but on their feet and not falling down?” And that’s what I was told. Fentanyl? Sounds like fun, like I should rush out and get me some ‘cuz that’ll make everyone’s life better.

The same crowd that enables drug dealers are in favour of drag story hour in the library. See the trend?
