That is the trouble Cathou. I have a feeling that the voter turnout is going to suck really bad this time around.

I'd like to, once again, encourage everybody to vote. There are plenty of alternative parties running and votes mean money now, so every vote counts in a very real way.

nah, i was planning to still support the bloc anyway  but i think we really need to make some changes in our politics

I don't know if you were referring to the Bloc when you said changes in politics, or politics in general, but I would support your assertation that changes are needed. If this country is to truly operate as a country, we have got to find a way to make every individual and every province equal, with equal say in how the country is run. Perhaps we need to clearly define what a federal government is supposed to do, and make future federal governments adhere to that. I really think this country is too big and too sparsely populated to be governed the way it is. Perhaps an equal number of people from the Western provinces, Eastern Provinces, and the North could be convened to run the country instead of the current system. I believe Knightman from Sask has an idea that has some merit, but I wish to study it more and hear more from him before making up my mind, but I think it is something like I just described.

[sarcasm]Because democracy is way too complicated.[/sarcasm]

Perhaps if you want change, Blue, you should be supporting a party that supports change instead of one that is just waiting for its turn at the trough.

The Bloc supports PR though, so they do support change. There are really only two parties don't support real change...the Liberals and Conservatives. Vote for anybody but them.

Sarcasm directed at me. In my opinion, the conservatives do represent change. I would think that the left must agree with this as well, as they are doing everything in their power not to have the conservatives either get an election called, or win an election. If there is no change, why the constant criticism? Not that I have any idea what this has to do with the thread topic, though. Sorry.

The Conservatives represent nothing but more of the same, Blue. Corruption and lust for power. That's it. That's their whole damned platform.

According to you, but not to those who can read policies with an open mind. But I do think you have perfectly described Paul Martin and his compadres.

Show me one policy of Harper's, complete with a link, where he makes a substantial move to limit corruption in government.

I'm actually pretty good at cards, especially Cheat.

Calling someone a "Nazi" is what you do when you can't think of anything else to say. If you do it right, the other person will be so busy proving they're not a Nazi that they won't notice you really contributed nothing to the discussion.

Some of us can make our points without resorting to name calling, some of us can't.
