When I first met my French girlfriend decades ago, something got lost in the translation.

I complained about a lousy present I had received for my birthday, and my gal looked at me all seriously and said...

"Oh, Patrick. You should never kick a gifted horse in the mouth!"

lol! To this day it remains one of the funniest malaprops I've ever heard.
