Do any of you forum members have a pattern for a seal skin coat, I really want to make the dog a coat for spring. Oh, and I need a recipe for Seal Flipper Pie. Thanks in advance.

I have no idea what this dish should look like.

I just googled this recipe.

Seal Flipper Pie Recipe

Written by Ryan Woodford (CyberSpike)

Ingredients:
# 4 seal flippers
# 1 L water
# 500 ml soda
# 125 ml fat pork, diced
# 1 cup milk
# 2 onoins, chopped
# 5 ml salt
# 60 ml flour
# 250 ml cold water
# 5 ml Worcestershire sauce

Directions:
Soak flippers in 1 L of water and soda. Trim off excess fat.

Dry flippers and dip in seasoned flour.

Brown in pork fat. Add onions and make a gravy of flour, water, and sauce. Pour over flippers.

Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 2-3 hours.

Make a pastry and cover the flippers. Bake at 400 degrees F for 30 minutes

PEI...for now
You know as far as hunts go, I'm more worried about the ones the Japanese have for the whales. There's fewer of them than seals, and there's also no end in sight for that hunt ending either.

I'm not doing this in defense of the seal hunt, I assumed it would be more commons sense to protest the hunt of endangered species first, rather than your common ones.

I am hypocritical if I eat meat and an extremist if I don't, fact Canada will continue to kill seal as long as the world lets them, the hunt has been going on since the 1700's which is longer than 400 years, the inuits longer and they do not kill 1 million seal in three years.

No, you're hypocritical because you find nothing wrong with killing other animals in an inhumane manner. And your pathetic because you think their less worthy because of what they are capaable of being trained to do.

"Mr. Speaker, I would like to see the 6 million seals, or whatever number is out there, killed and sold, or destroyed and burned. I do not care what happens to them... the more they kill the better I will love it."

John Efford, Canadian Minister of Natural Resources

Are you asserting Efford said that? Or is it below? I think a link is in order. Whay say you?

Fact when man eliminates all prdators to obtain the prey for himself or for economic increase we rid our world of all natural predators leaving weak, sickly prey. Natures natural cull of the weaker species is destroyed. And this doesn't take lies it is common sense.

Fact is, there is an overabundance of seals, putting pressure on whatever they eat....other fish right? This is simple cause and effect.

The 2010 Canadian Olympic symbol which was unveiled April 25th 2005 arrived interestingly on the same day that 1,700 infant Harp Seals washed up on the shores of Newfoundland (collateral damage) only days after the largest mass killing of marine mammals in the history of the world.

Link.

Well if the activists make so much money which is a lie, Watson, whether you like him or not proved his point and proved where his money went, on the other hand what about the poloticians accusing him, that have since been fired for such things as misappropriating funds along with other charges? hmmm...

What did he say exactly, who was fired. Link.

All I know is that in the end, you will lose. Too emotional, people will only point and laugh.

Actually I remember hearing about that too, but it was because of the ice melting before it should've. When seals are born they spend a certain amount of time on the ice to get fat before they're ready to go in the water because they'll freeze to death, they are born without the proper insulation. So that one you can chalk up to mother nature, or Global warming. Whatever seems easier to blame.

sorry no link. I remember it from TV.

Besides It's not the infant seals that are hunted. If you want to protest that, then somehow travel back to the 60's and 70's.

Is he suggesting that clubbing 90 thousand seals isn't a real job?

I'm from Ontario too BTW.
