I'm talking about maybe 30,,35000 years ago. Before philosophies and currencies and sophisticated weaponry. When it was just the hunter gatherers and tribal living. I wonder if they got along with the neighboring tribes. Just something I think about now and then,. I mean does archeological evidence indicate a more peaceful time back then, Be interesting to find out. I need that way back time machine Mr. Wizard had.

I know what you meant and I still say no. I bet they competed against other tribes for hunting areas and gathering areas.

you may be right. Tools to kill may well reflect our male instincts. Some males anyway.

If nature made us this way, she has a very good reason for it. Dont fall into the trap of thinking your more intelligent then nature like many progressive do.

Humans have always fought. It would be silly to think otherwise. Its not like neanderthals sat back a died on their own . And then when the neanderthals were killed off, its not like everyone sat back and held hands......

The question has been answered
Whew. And thank gawd for that. I can now sit back without that infernal sense of wonder and know in point of fact, that johnny has answered all my questions. Now,,,I'll have a beer and some peanuts. :).

I'm one of those who doesn't have a problem with saying I don't know. Not sure what a progressive is,,,probably another label. I had a thought or a question. It's been addressed. that's about all there is to it.

Embrace your dark masculin side. Nature made you that way for reasons we lack the wisdom to comprehend.

Watched a documentary awhile back. It was about the effects of stress on society. The biologist lived near a colony of baboons and studied their Habits, hierarchy etc. The submissive males and the females had very high instances of hypertension , diabetes, heart disease and other maladies. Long story short, the colony came in contact with human influences and became infected with tuberculosis. Most of the Alpha Males died as a result. After a good amount of time, the rest of the colony showed remarkable improvements in their overall health. The documentary was called "Stress, the silent Killer if I recall correctly. Might be something in there to consider as it relates to the condition of societies through the ages.

The earliest evidence of war belongs to the Mesolithic cemetery Site 117 (in northern Sudan, near the border with Egypt) which has been determined to be approximately 14,000 years old. About forty-five percent of the skeletons there displayed signs of violent death.Since the rise of the state some 5,000 years ago, military activity has occurred over much of the globe. The advent of gunpowder and the acceleration of technological advances led to modern warfare. According to Conway W. Henderson, "One source claims that 14,500 wars have taken place between 3500 BC and the late 20th century, costing 3.5 billion lives, leaving only 300 years of peace (Beer 1981: 20)."

In War Before Civilization, Lawrence H. Keeley, a professor at the University of Illinois, says that approximately 90–95% of known societies throughout history engaged in at least occasional warfare, and many fought constantly.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War#History

But it's entirely possible that wars occurred long before 14,000 years ago. I can't imagine that humans 30,000 years ago weren't fighting each other over land and resources and whatnot.

Having said that, there's no evidence any of these bog bodies were killed in conflict. There killings seemed to be ritual acts. Britain's Lindow Man and Ireland's Old Croghan Man and Conycavan Man, for instance, may have each been a king of a small Celtic kingdom which may have had some calamity fall upon it, such as famine as a result of crop failure, so the king was ritually sacrificed, maybe by the Druids, to appease a certain Celtic goddess (whose name I can't remember, even though I read it in a book about the Celts recently).

Being from Denmark, Tollund Man probably wasn't a Celt, but it's highly likely his death was also as a result of sacrifice as part of some long forgotten religion.

I think that you are striving to achieve perfection of any given moment, meanwhile nature is striving to achieve perfection through elimination of imperfection.

Those are two different standards. Even if the end result is the same.

My question is, Do you believe you are smarter then nature?

Incidentally, nothing in the inhabited world is natural. Especially egoism.

Why are humans not natural? explain that to me please. It makes absolutely no logical sense.

It would explain why you seem to think that you are more inteligent then nature, as you see yourself as above nature.

The question has been answered

Some theories have neanderthals not being wiped but absorbed into more dominant tribes.

Same thing. "More dominant tribes". Meaning could have wiped them out.

The same way many humans from different tribes then our own, want to integrate our "more dominant society".
