As I remember and this was a long time ago, the first nations in the north of Quebec
were given some assurance they could remain in Canada should there be some kind
of split and that was around 1912 to 1914 or somewhere there. Or am I wrong? I
think we took something about this.

Not really. The Canadian Army would be pulled out of Quebec, or at the very least, still under the command of the Canadian Gov't.

The Cree, Algonquian and Mohawk are now fairly well armed. The only force they should face in defending their territorial rights, would be local police forces and the QPP.

I don't place to much money of Quebec civil servants being able to stifle the Cree, or the Mohawk.
