I'm a white man myself, but once I'd gotten married to an Ethiopian of Muslim from a Muslim family, boy did I learn abour prejudice. Many in Canada's immigration department are white biggots (my ex- had to get into a good fight with them, but she did win when, with evidence of their discriminaiton, she threatenned to sue. Just my family in law alone had gone through repeated incidents of getting stopped by the police for questioning, refused job offers or apartments to rent yet white friends (including myself on occasion) could still get them (so it would seem that the job or apartment would have been "oops, sorry, too late, just taken this morning" to, an hour later, "oh sure we have a job (or apartment) available. For when do you want it?"
That's not to say blacks aren't racist though. African Americans in Canada hated me, some the Ethiopian community threatenned my ex- when they realised we were about to get married (funny that, they all had no problem with me until they learnt we were about to get married). And she was afraid to let Muslims know that she did not profess the religion herself!
So yes, there is plenty of racism in Canada, at all levels, white black, Muslim, government officials, private sector, you name it.
