Wow, the party that was going to bring ethics to Canadian politics cheated to win the election, big surprise. The MPs involved didn't even know what was really going on because that control freak Harper was pulling all the strings from his office.

Basically the money was moved around without doing anything with it so the conservatives could exceed the federal campaign spending limit by $1 million. Then claims for rebates were submitted by the MPs involved if they got more than 10% of the vote even though they never had access to the money. Sounds like an attempt to defraud the taxpayers of Canada.
Harper doesn't even respect his own MPs enough to tell them what he's up to, is it any wonder he treats average Canadians like peons.

Harper has the arrogance of all ideologues, he's so convinced of the rightness of his worldview that he lacks the ability to respect the views and needs of others. Maybe his kind of leadership works in Zimbawe or Russia, but I doubt many Canadians will put up with it much longer.

Unless they stage a coup d'tete I doubt the conservatives will ever get a majority. Even with all the voter anger towards the Liberals in the last election they had to cheat to win, as close as that race was it's possible this scheme made the difference.

Another conservative candidate from the 2006 election has come forward to complain about the actions of the party in election. He was running in Labrador and claims he neither asked nor was consulted about participating in this scheme which he objected to.

Cobalt_Kid I am so pissed off man with this clowns, after a 13 year exile and many name changes to the so pure and white Con rat pack party in the quest to deceive the Canadian voter the Conservative idiotic ideology has always been as you know "DO AS YOU ARE TOLD NOT AS WE DO". What is astonishing here is that Harper begged and cheated to get a chicken little minority while he told Canadians his rat pack was the perfect panacea of political leaders in Canada while elections Canada was kept in the dark and behind closed doors they were printing new receipts and subsection's asking the voters who did not vote for these goofs to pay for the $777,000 e legal money maneuver. Harpers office refused to talk to CBC as well to the Canadian press after the truth of doctoring receipts came out. My guess is there will be some very interesting informantion coming out of all the correspondence taken from conservative party headquarters. After all the chips have fallen I doubt there will be many conservatives able to claim ANY moral high ground over the Liberals.
I'm predicting a Liberal minority government in the next election with greater input from the NDP and Green Party. It won't be perfect, but at least it won't be a government trying to hand the country over to the US AGAIN...
