There's nothing there/has never been anything there and never will be- it's mistake, a shitstain, a totally forgettable couple streets.

OK there is a marina but that's it.

It was stupid of them to be a part of Washington State. They should have been part of BC from day 1. Just because some idiot map maker didn't want to jog his pencil 1/2 inch.

Closer to 170 years, from the Oregon Treaty of 1846 between Britain and the U.S. to settle the Oregon boundary dispute. They agreed the 49th parallel would be the boundary, but nobody involved knew about that little bit of the B.C. mainland that projected down south of it. Just a bit of ignorance, not idiocy. Largely because the decisions were made thousands of miles away from the area involved. As I recall for geography class half a century ago there is a significant chunk of OntariOWE below the 49th. Conveniently located within a few miles of the decision makers.
