Somebody living in Alberta won the 54 plus million and my question is this: who in the province didn't show up for work today? It would be great if the winner was one of the strikers at the Lakeside plant

The latest story is that the winners are a group of 17 oilworkers in Camrose,Alta,and none of them have come forward yet.
It usually does. They'll have some co-workers who usually contribute, but didn't; or the guy who collected the money will want more than the others; or somebody will say that they wanted to join the pool but were told they couldn't; or somebody will say that they gave money but aren't being included now.
We've seen this play out a fwe too many times already.
The lottery booths I passed this morning were deserted..no customers at all. People must have spent all their spare cash on the hopes of winning this pot.
It slays me how people go bananas once it gets to 20 million or so - like winning a crummy 2 or 3 million just wouldn't cut...

Just heard on radio one of the 17 from Camrose was partying all night and he has notified lotto board. Thats $3,176,470.50 each. Not a bad haul.

hmmmm...it's only a 25 minute drive to Edmonton though.....although I don't know if Camrose has nightlife comparable to Brandon Manitoba. :lol:

So what? The middle of nowhere is still the middle of nowhere. Having a population of rig pigs does not make it somewhere.
...I saw some the winners on the news and a few of them looked like kids...wow I can just imagine what it would be like to have that kind of money at 22.....geez.
...Heck I'm in my late 30's and I would probably engage in some of the above mentioned....lol....actually I would probably set a protion of the winnings to blow on bullshit...and the rest would be invested and saved.
