The absence of Eaglesmack from this thread has been duly noted.

He is truly a beacon of light against the scourge of terrorism.

Please quit pretending you're something you are not.. it takes away from the very little credibility you narrowly hang onto here..

If you saw a shadow, it would be yours and you'd run scared like a little girl..
Getting some unwanted texts are you??

Paddock has been described as a professional gambler. His brother seemed to think he was successful at it. I assumed that meant he played high stakes table poker in tournaments or arranged games. Not so. He played Video Slot Poker. And he drank heavily during his binges (something real pros never do).

There are poker players who can thrive as professionals. But all of them have one thing in common. They play people not cards. Very sophisticated players can detect tells, cues, rhythms, strategies, propensity for risks and bluffs, aggressiveness of opponents as well as odds.. and can prevail over time.

That will NOT happen with a machine. These have algorithms tipping the odds in favour of the house. Winnings are based on given payouts per hand. You will inevitably run into the unassailable and impregnible laws of probability and you will lose. Most poker slots have paybacks of 98 or 99% to keep players at the machine .

But a pathological gambler like Paddock, playing $100 slots over 1000 plays is going to lose 1 or 2 grand consistently. Do that over an extended weekend and $10k has gone up in smoke. He was far too isolated in his own space to play social poker. The play itself in facile and habitual and without strategy or imagination, falling into patterns of selecting a given number of cards in the draw for a given deal.

Frankly its a sign of someone who simply enamoured with the bells and blinking lights of the machine.. and comps of having a hostess, open bar, free room and food. I wouldn't be surprised if after 3 or 4 years of this even a multi millionaire was running of out of money. And is seems his personality was fragmenting into violence and self destruction.
