Went shopping at Target and was told by an employee that the store is not at risk for closing. In fact no local shops are in any such danger at the moment.

Let's hope that report is correct!

It probably is, Gopher. Just heard on the news today up here that the U.S. is booming.....................thanks to Obama I would presume! :)

A couple of surveys have been taken and Target's prices were slightly better owing to the 5% discount card its regular customers get. I have one and use it to save a few bucks. Also, when we get mailings that include a $5 coupon with $ 1 coupons for produce and I take full advantage of that.

Having been to a US Target and a Canadian Target, I can say that the US one is not a bad store. It seemed to have slightly higher prices than WalMart but has slightly better quality merchandise. Canada had similar stuff to WalMart (if they had it) and charged 5% more. No discount cards or anything else. And I always thought WalMart employees were hard to find when you needed one. They are plentiful when compared to Target in Canada.
