Sun News Network on Bell

Guess Bell didn't want to pay what Rogers or Shaw is paying....they figured they would get it free.
I been thinking for a while to get a cable package, since this might be my last year of traveling with my trailer and a portable dish in the sumertime......
My son is paying $20 less per month than me for telephone, TV and unlimited download for internet, and he has Sun TV.......Come september I will be calling Express Vu for a deal:lol:

You usually need to sign a contract or bundle services to get those savings, but nothings to stop you from bouncing from provider to provider every two years looking for a better deal.

Sun TV is available in Toronto 'Over the Air, 1080i', no need for cable or satellite.

Instead of whining Sun TV & by extension Quebecor & Videotron should be reciprocal and stop paying carriage fees to Bell for their channels. I can well imagine the cacophany of howling of upset Quebecers when Bell pulls the signal of their specialty channels to Videotron

Years ago my daughter worked at ExpressVu with Catherine and of course had a good deal on receivers and programing, and a few years later when she went to work somewhere else, she transfered the package to my name because it was handy for me with the traveling I do in the summer time, so with the solar panels and extra batteries and an inverter we can enjoy TV anywhere we park.....unless it rains for a week:smile:

Incentive to keep it then, I can't imagine this impasse over carriage rights will last much longer, it's not beneficial to either company to not have it broadcasted.

The plot thickens...

OTTAWA - The operators of Sun News Network filed a complaint Friday with Canada’s broadcast regulator against Bell Canada.
The complaint alleges Bell gave the all-news networks it owns — CTV News Channel, CP24, and Business News Network — “undue preference” and put the fledgling Sun News Network at “undue disadvantage” in their carriage fee disagreement.
Luc Lavoie, head of development for Sun News, says Bell has refused to treat Sun News Network the same way it and other television distributors treat all news channels.
“Could it be because we’re competition?” asked Lavoie. “Are they afraid of us? And is it acceptable in Canada that they give themselves preferential treatment? It goes against all the concepts of regulatory affairs in Canada.”
