Johnny... they whacked that guy with a rocket from a Cobra helicopter. What a shot that was. Old Ironsides should have kept his trap shut and talked a little more peace than war.

I do remember the period after Yassin was killed. No sooner did one Hamas leader replace the old he was cut down. They didn't even get to check out their new office.

As soon as the new leader of Hamas was announced the IDF knocked him off. They eventually stopped announcing who was the next replacement for obvious reasons.

It was so easy to strap bombs on OTHER peoples backs but when the war started hiting them in the seat they said...

"No Mas!"

I remember that attack, and I heard that for a little while after it the number of attempted attacks on Israel went Waaayyyy down. That's why I think Israel should direct their retaliation towards Hamas' higher ups. Whenever a teen age palestinian blows himself up in the market, launch some rockets into the house of a Hamas leader. Eventually Hamas is going to stop sending exploding messenger boys, and since it's the politicos and warlords who get killed, they will start to run out of recruits from the people.

Dieagle, it's obvious you're a rabid anti-Israeli. Anyone who cannot admit that there are mistakes and criminal acts on both sides is a little blind in my books.

Hamas defends restaurant bombing

With its response, Hamas gave the first indication of how it would view attacks against Israel after winning legislative elections in January and taking control of the Palestinian Authority last month.

''We think that this operation . . . is a direct result of the policy of the occupation and the brutal aggression and siege committed against our people," Khaled Abu Helal, a spokesman for the Hamas-led Interior Ministry, told the Associated Press yesterday.

The Hamas response set the stage for confrontation with Israel and further isolation by Western countries.

I guess they are gluttons for punishment.

I think not said:
I think that's the first time I ever heard you say that Jersay. You're right though, they are both at fault. That doesn't however make this bombing any less than vicious cowardly act.

Exactly, a cowardly act that is what it is, just like everything israeli gov does to the palestinians.

So in other word, on onne side we have terrorist group who does illegal coward act, and the other side it is an elected governement who does the same and even worst.

Johnny and Eaglesmack don't seem to see it that way, they seem to support terrorism against Palestinian civilians. So they are terrorist supporters when Palestinian civilians are directly attacked.

Israel defending itself is not Terrorist actions against the Palestinians nice try to spin it that way.

I support the complete destruction of Hamas, Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad as they are Terrorist Organizations.

You and your sidekick Aeon on the other hand support the complete destruction of Israel while supporting Terrorist Organizations Hamas, Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad.

Following this logic, then palestinians group are only defending themselves from terrorist israel.

Quite fair isnt??

On one side you have unorganised group, with rifle, children with rocks, and on the other side you have a deadly military, second one after usa, helicopter, rocket launcher, tanks etccc, wow i am impress.......

Perfect Johnny Utah. This is tough to top.

But we have to add that the Palestinian Terrorist hide behind their children and women and operate out of civillian areas HOPING for civillians to get killed so they can jump up and down and smack their own heads at funerals with the cameras rolling.

So just plain terrorists when Israel kills civilians when they are not attacking terrorist targets because everything they do isn't against a terrorist organization.

And remember most of the people they killed when they invaded last time wasn't militants except for Jenin in 2002. They were palestinian policemen.

Hey Jersay, we ought to challenge anyone in this
debate over Israel and Palestine by asking everyone
to adopt the reverse point of view.

Just a thought.

It would be an interesting excercise.

I know I can make an equally convincing case for
either the Palestinians or Israel, and I know damn well
I can be rather good at it.

But my heart lies in the belief, a sincere belief that
the truth lives in the middle between the two.

I don't subscribe to moral parity between state
terrorism or individual terrorism, and I don't subscribe
to moral equality in asymetrical warfare either, for
psychological reasons.

But I do subscribe to a truth that does live in the
middle, because there is enough of the devil in the
details to cause any honest partisan to question the
absoluteness of his belief.

Might be interesting. I'll go first.

Hi I'm a Palestinian supporter and I think Palestinians should stop blowing up old ladies on buses and blowing up restaurants. I think peace should be their first objective and a call to lay down arms and sit at the table should be in order. I think that a strengthened Palestinian government is the best approach to the future of the people. Militants should come under the direction of the state and not terror groups. By being passive and allowing the state of Israel to come under fire for it's transgressions against a peace loving people will be far more effective than suicide bombs.

Sounds good, the perfect solution, but that will never happen.
If u send any palestinian for a blood test, he/she will have the highest level of hate for Israelis... They don't like them and they don't want them there...It is going to be very hard dealing with the next generations of palestinians than it was dealing with the previous ones .
It's sad when a nation believes that blowing up peace chances and themselves is a heroic act ...

Let's check out some Capital Irony here.

Israel collects custom fees for Palestinians to travel
to Israel to work. It returns that money to Palestine.

Now it doesn't.

Wonder why.

Those with a clue will know.

And then because the EU and Israel are stopping payment,
FINALLY the Iranians come through with a partial payment
to subsidize this coming month's salaries in Palestine.

And all the oil rich neighbors haven't been financing Palestine ?

With friends like that, who needs enemies ???

Diaeagle- I have a question for you... ( from a different angle)
I am lebanese and 75% of lebanese people want Hezzbollah and Fatah IN LEBANOM to disarm, the Lebanese governement is trying to disarm them...but they threatening USA to fight them on the Mediterranean...and u know that.
Simply...It is my freakin country and I DO NOT WANT TERRORISTS there.. They don't want to disarm until the occupied land of Palestine is recovered by Palestinians, financed by Iran ,imuned with KATIOCHA and M-16 through Syria...

Can you answer this? why me - as a lebanese- and my parents ,also my friends have to pay the price of palestinians who believe that peace will only occur after the destruction of Israel and tolerate a Hezbollah and a Fatah on a lebanese territory...
Diaegle...for peace sake's.. for Palestinians and Egyptians and Jordanians and Israelis and Canadians with a hyphen :),those people must put their guns and rocks down and have a peace break ...
plus, you and I need to sit down ... Jordanians are stubborn and I know I can work my magic

Watching the protests in Lebanon last year was something. The Lebanese people stood up to Syria and said enough without violence and Syria caved.
