Are some of you actually saying there's no way, no how that this can done? Is that what you're saying?

They have a vegetable garden on the International Space Station. So we can find a way to grow plant life there but not in this situation?

Of course, it can be done, to begin with there are a few frost free days, anyway heaters can be operated in green houses and if some darkness needs to be provided, a cover can be installed. I suppose the main deterrent would be lack of cost effectiveness.

What good is it if it can't be used in winter without being lit and heated by diesel fuel?

I was being a little facetious. :) :)

They get that from Sept. until March.
You ever been there. Jan we could cut-lines when the sun was up, that was still at 10AM to about 4PM. Running lights to mimic summer conditions of 5AM to 11PM (and jacking up the CO2)

Seems we found a way to sell ice to an Eskimo after all. If the snow design was used would it be stronger or weaker. After seeing the new design would the snow ones built out of drift snow be easier to build as each piece is the same size where the traditional design has each layer being a bit smaller and that should help in shipping as they would be like a stark of smaller cups.

That far north the traditional dome design doesn't vavor the far side of the dome as shadows from the other plants would interfer with the light available. Cover a south facing steep hill or cliff and the shorter plants can be stepped up and you get full production from every row, with the dome shouldn't the panels where light is passing through be mirrored to keep all the light on the plants. On the 20th planting you might have plants like spuds that like the new extended daylight hours as a trade off for a shorter growing season.
