I'm starting to understand why people don't vote overwhelmingly for liberal now. I expected that to be the case since canada seems to be an overwhelmingly liberal country compared to the UK, but now i see the candidate... hmm. I'm glad i don't get the vote here, cos there doesn't seem to be much to choose from.

I don't trust gov'ts at any time. They are far more prone to screw something up than to do the right thing and the Liberals have proven themselves to be masters at doing that. Again, Harpy hasn't done anything to screw up in near as large a scope as the Liberals and Lyin Brian. The guy is no Winston Churchill or anything by a long shot, but so far he's better than anything the Liberals have turned up in the past 40 years. But, I don't expect anyone to really be able to see that and absolutely expect Liberal sheep to keep whining about Harpy and moaning about how saintly Martin, Chretien, and Trudeau were.
Perhaps one of you libs could show me anything Harpy has done to harm Canada on the same scale as ASCAM, or SHAWINIGANGATE, or the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms for Criminals, or the Young Offenders Act, or the meanspirited act of balancing the budget on the backs of seniors or causing Canada's student debt to rise higher than the national debt (by doing things like enabling tuition fees to double and turning the student loan program into a program of subsidies to banks), or supporting terrorist organisations with Canadian supplies and money, or take more than $40 billion from the EI coffers to finance tax cuts for the richest of the rich, or cut hundreds of millions of $ from healthcare like Martin did in the early 90s.

Hey Dorkyman, I see you're from the rock. Maybe you're like this fascist alanticaparty who wants to end our democracy and replace it with Harper and his right-wing "small group of elites". Don't be surprised when people like me who value our democracy get a little peeved at complete ****** *******
who want to take away our freedom. Must be my Scots blood, but I hate ******* like that.

haven't actually heard much about this Atlanticaparty, so no, I'm not a part of them.

And how am I taking away anyones freedom? Wouldn't freedom entail the right to free speech and the right to vote for whoever you wanted? And why would you think I'm a fascist, didn't you just read that I was pulling for Ignatieff for the Lib leadership? I wanted a leader like Ignatieff to take the Liberal party back, since I didn't get that I may vote a different way.

Of course, excercising my right to vote for any party not sanction by the Liberal Brotherhood of Canuckistan is treason, so I will be sent to the salt mines....

Sometimes people don't to vote for the same people you do, for a variety of reasons. Deal with it, man.

I guess this goes to show the common person's ignorance towards our poor politicians.

For god's sake, he has been in the Liberal Cabinet for the past decade and people still don't know him?
